Sometimes I really do miss being a noob. As crazy as that sounds there really was a special kind of fun to the steep learning curve, especially when with friends. Unfortunately at 5-6 stars, it seems like matches are a lot less interesting now, but maybe that’s just my experience catching up to me. Regardless, watching this video might’ve just unburnt me out of this game; you and your friends make it seem like a lot of fun.

I was panicking so hard I didnt know what had happened.... Im a 5-6 star player now, k/d of 1.25, my kd had constanlty been going up for the past 6 or 7 months but slowly since at more than 1k hours it takes tons of kills for it to change digits. Im still improving. I can only really notice my improvements when Im playing with people who have lower rating than me. Like 2 or 3 stars for example, then it becomes very obvious

@knaea Жыл бұрын
I've said that somewhere in the 700 hour range is when i felt like i started to come online as a player. at the time of this video i believe i had in the 1500 hours range. no, I never specifically or consciously changed anything or adopted any particular gameplay style to get better, my favorite guns now are largely my favorite guns the minute i started playing. specifically the sparks, and in general throughout games i tend to enjoy the slower chonkier feeling guns, it's what drew me to hunt. and i still play like i always did, i tend to be a Shift+w player and shoot it out when i get there, which is largely how i play most games across most genres i enjoy a rushdown style gameplay. I like being the first to a compound, and i like chasing shots. What did change was my general awareness and ability to shoot, I also got very good at mentally mapping everyone in the game and largely predicting where people would be. Also having a intimate knowledge of the maps and compounds is a large leg up that comes with time.

@@knaea thats super cool i think its interesting you saying you just used the weapons you enjoy and that made you better. my group i play with will get made at me in 3 and 4 star lobbies for bringing weapons i enjoy because they hold back the team like compact Springfield bow crossbow.
@knaea Жыл бұрын
@@codyd7841 if you look in one of my tip videos, that’s actually something that I recommended was picking a gun and sticking to it and in particular, I suggested one of the slow firing guns, something that you can’t fan or lever or spam with because it will teach you good habits of taking a shot and then taking cover while you reload and then repositioning by using what you got, and it will also help you in the initial learning phase of lead bullet velocity later on, you can use a variety. Getting mad over when somebody takes is in my opinion, a pretty stupid thing and a very Reddit thing, I don’t do that. I don’t care what anybody else takes because it’s got nothing to do with me. And one of my very favorite ways to play and maybe the thing that I do most often is just taking the free hunter with whatever he came equipped with an upgrading solely off of what I can take from dead hunters. Your gun can hold back the team, they hold themselves back looking for excuses to point fingers at instead of looking for self improvement. Go check out a guy on twitch named goophi, total beast, high level and primarily uses a Springfield.

@@jani80k there was a hard reset on launch and there was only 1 map, as I remember. I knew pretty much every tiny spot to shoot from while hidden, but crytek patched nearly all of them out of the game by now. A lot was very different when I started playing: Hunters always started with only 50hp and long ammo could headshot kill over the entire map (I think even winfield could). Dolch had just medium ammo and was like 200$ with 20 shots in reserve or something. Nitro had a normal ironsight and was oneshot over 100m … It was crazy times.

@@jani80k yes and no. It was certainly fun to shoot someone 500m away with a sparks sniper. But the dolch, winfield and nitro were so broken that it was no fun. And: Because everyone was on 50hp players were just crouching and farming AI with the silent pistol until they got the levels to buy more health bars. Overall in the game nearly everything changed for the better I would say. Some stuff benefits less skilled players more nowadays and there is a little bit less skill expression generally - which I think is the only downside after all that changed.

How long did it take and how did you do it? Because after 1000 hours I am still not improving, but I've tried everything.
@knaea2 жыл бұрын
i've said that it took me personally right around 700-750 hours to come online as a player. It can take more or less for each individual based on a lot of things like experience, mindset, and maybe just raw talent. i came in with no prior pc fps experience though i did have a fair bit from console, so my aim was not great but my gamesense imo was pretty decent. personally I feel like mindset is the single greatest factor in becoming better. a willingness and attitude towards doing what will make you better at the game. i personally find that most people are too worried about dying, and not winning, to do what it takes to actually improve to the point where you consistently win and live. which is why if you watch my guide videos aimed at new players i urge people towards trying to make plays, and form good habits which i felt was not the tone of most guide videos. I would liken it to a guy starting out at the gym. imagine a guy who's brand new to weightlifting, but instead of putting on appropriate amounts he loads up the bars with more than he can reasonably workout with, so that people don't see him lifting small weights, it's super counterproductive and stifles progress. with that in mind, I say that your biggest steps towards progress are to set aside gear fear, and stop worrying about losing, try to make plays, don't hide from enemies, attempt to clutch when your team is down, attempt to run the gauntlet every time, etc etc. maybe this is or isn't your issue, but it's what i personally found to frequently be the case. sometimes it will go wrong, but thats ok, and when it does dont blame this or that, or figure why it's someone else's fault. stop and try to think to yourself, "why didnt that work? and what can ~I~ do better next time?"
