Nice message . If you make more videos , suggest getting a good radio mic .

This is great. Thanks Tom. Wish I were there to sit and chat with you about it. There isn’t a Halfbike within a 150 miles of me so I have to buy one assuming I can do it. Your video does make me want to jump “to your side”

Thank you, i hope it works out for you. I think almost anyone can learn as long as they don't give up. It sure did take me awhile to tame it but when I did, the fun really began. I was just on it this morning for a 10 mile coffee ride, and next month I'll be attempting a 68 miler to match my age. I hope take a video of the experience, if I do ill post it here.

@@tomcase6368 thanks Tom, that’s quite encouraging. I’m 55 and really craving the learning of something for mind and body and this seems the perfect choice. Should I take the plunge after summer and my holiday abroad, I’ll make a video and be sure to send a shout out to you. Good luck on your next big ride adventure!

I bet you're right, the Halfbike is the most fun out of all the bikes I've ridden. Good luck!!

@@tomcase6368 hey Tom..I appreciate the invite! Sounds good. I'm sorry to share that I had a mishap on my 2nd day of riding my halfbike. 😒 My left pedal came off while I was riding the bike and I actually tweaked my ankle a bit. I had to contact halfbike and let them know the pedal will no longer screw into the crank. Bummer

Great story! In what span of time are you counting the 100 miles?
@tomcase63683 жыл бұрын
Thanks, it took 9:14 riding time, and almost 12 hours overall time including rests

Thanks for the ride-along. Happy to celebrate with you! Did you have someone planting the camera/phone? Or did you do those sections twice? Nice choice of music too. God bless you another year.

Very interesting video 🤓 I‘m about to order one. Did something break on the halfbikes? How would you rate the quality? Thank you for your opinion 🙏 greetings from Germany

@@marC63S I'm a bit of a dare devil even at my age so I had a few good crashes as I was learning. I scuffed up the hand grip once but other than that there is no damage. I usually wipe them down after each ride but the only maintenance I've done is lube the chains. The Halfbike is very solid and very durable, I highly recommend it. Good luck!

Tom. I am preparing to buy a halfbike 3. There are some hills near me. What gearing does your halfbike have? What gear do you normally ride in? How would you compare the strain on your knees to a regular bike? Thanks very much
@tomcase63682 жыл бұрын
I have the 1st version which is only 1 speed, and a Halfbike 2 that I ride most often, but it's only 3 speeds, I hope to someday have the Halfbike 3, I sure could use a 4th gear after getting up to cruising speed. About the gears, when I was learning, I used 2nd to initiate the movement, then switched into 3rd, but now I use all 3 all the time. You're going to love it... in my opinion it's the most fun out of all the bikes I ride. When you order it, tell Mihail you saw my videos, I don't earn anything from them but like to let them know I'm still an active rider.

@Tom Case Good information thanks. Are there any hills where you are?
@tomcase63682 жыл бұрын
@@madogblue No hills, only the bridge overpasses. However, I travel to central Florida 2 or 3 times a year, there are plenty of hills there, The steeper ones I can do on the other bikes, but not the Halfbike, but that's only me. Average hills are fine, takes a little effort but that's why I ride.

@Tom Case nice. Have you made any changes to your HB2? How do your feet and knees like it?
@tomcase63682 жыл бұрын
@@madogblue No issues with feet and knees, possibly because they were already conditioned by my other bikes? I put bar ends on the 1st version Halfbike for awhile, it helps a lot so I may extend the handlebars a little on version 2, then add a pair of Ergon 5 bar ends before doing my 68 mile ride in August. Being able to change the wrist position is a big plus.

hey Tom I have been enjoying your videos and was curious is you have had any issues with wear and tear and parts breaking on such distances with the halfbike 3. I guess I curious on the quality and strength of the halfbike 3 for long distances.
@tomcase6368 Жыл бұрын
Hi, thanks, I'm still enjoying the Halfbike as much as ever. For maintenance I have had zero problems. I keep the chain lubed but other than that, nothing has worn out or broke. Fixing a flat on the front wheel was a bit of a learning curve for me, maybe someday I'll post a video of how I do it. I had one good spill on the Halfbike 2, trying to tackle something I wasn't ready for yet, the bike took a major fall but never missed a beat. I turned 68 this past August, did a 68 mile ride on the #3. Planned to get a video but the heat index here in Florida was over 110° so I only concentrated on the ride. If you'd like to see the Garmin stats, email me at naturecarver@gmail.com... I don't think youtune allows links in the comments. So long story short, my advice is to get one asap, its a tough bike that'll stand up to whatever you put it through.
