Honestly speaking, one of these people could have stopped in right before they were doing to do something drastic and your encounter changed their mind or outlook. It seems silly but honestly it’s very powerful. I’ve witnessed it myself and had someone come tell me because I made them laugh prevented them from going home and killing themselves. I was just ust a random stranger in the right place at the right time.

This is exactly how you get better at dealing with people, if they are upset and irate or calm and ominous. It’s great to have this type of frequency of interactions with a variety of people because you learn so much about people and their body behavior and how they interact with others. You can learn a lot and thus protect yourself from getting scammed or done over by just dealing with people and understanding the “Human Condition” . I wish I could do what you do like this but I am too pessimistic to initially try and be cordial with people in the beginning like you are.
