I am coming to detest unprepared choirs. So limited it makes me scream. So much more could’ve been done with this song. They achieve a decent sound but for every one hour of rehearsal time the director should insist upon 20 minutes of presentation. For however many weeks or months it took to make this song performance ready virtually nothing was done about the presentation. Such is the way of most choirs and most lackadaisical leaders. I know these are youth but aren’t they in possession of all the energy of the world? They would welcome some instruction and discipline in how to keep a good stage presence and how to smile and how to memorize the lyrics and get off book! The difference would be like catching and eating a salmon pulled right out of the stream 15 minutes later or three week old fish!
