My pitbull mix of 13 years passed away last month after one week of surgery removing his pancreas. It had a 6 in tumor wrapping it. Turns out it was cancer. My poor baby. I miss him so so much. I’m still crying every day. He was my anchor. My Rocko forever 🖤🤍

My first dog was a German shepherd mix. She came from a litter of puppies from my grandmothers dog who lived on a large farm. She looked part wolf. My dog lived to be 16 and actually spent most of her time outside!! This was back in the day when dogs only got about 3 shots. 1 rabies followed later by a rabies booster. One de-worming as a puppy and one distemper. That was it! My dog never got sick and became old and arthritic. I’m convinced modern vet meds are killing our pets!
@rebecca755889 ай бұрын
I think you are correct. nowadays you can have titers read. its tough because if you are in. rural area you gotta get your dog the rabies shot to even get the license. I got my dog the three year shot see because there are rabid animals out there you do not want your dog getting rabies but they've proven that if the titers are still there you don't need to keep giving shots.There are also tons of mycotoxins now and they've got doggy covid so new diseases are cropping up

It's just like people in modern times. The more vaccines and medicines they take, the worst their health is. For 23 years, I fed three feral cats that lived outside around my office. They never had modern medicine nor any vaccines. All three lived over 20 years on the cheapest of food that I felt I could afford. Meanwhile I went through four dogs who followed the vets advice and all died horribly. Sickening.

I'm 61 yrs old and I have always had a dog under my feet. I was 19 when I got Peanut, she lived to be 22 yrs 3 months, died in her sleep, no illnesses, 2 rabbi vaccines and homemade raw meats and veggies. My next dog was a schnauzer, had heart disease, but she lived to be 16 yrs old. Then my Lucy, lived to be 21+ yrs. Now I have a rescue G. Shepherd, with a spinal injury, I was told he had to be put down, Vet said; he could not receive Chiropractic adjustments, I took him to an animal Chiropractor for a second opinion and he is able to receive partial adjustments and deep heat massage. He goes every two weeks and has quality life. No way would I trust vet of medicine. They won't even discuss raw meat diet with me, nor vitamins. They dont want your dog to be healthy, no money being healthy, just like Med Drs. Eat well, exercise your dog daily, and never use house hold chemicals, especially those plug in fragrances in your house & those nasty fragrances people use in their vehicles.

Absolutely agree! Vaccinated my dogs regretfully because we had travel plans. One got really sick. Itching uncontrollably - he could NOT calm down, his ears started swelling up. I will never vaccinate again! My pets or kids! A friend of mine has 4 cats, all the same age. Three of the 4 are sick. She is even finally realizing that the 3 that are vaccinated are the ones with cancer & sickness. The other one, the healthy one, never vaxxed. We must be advocates for our pets. Their food is bad too. My vet even recommended homemade food and they are thriving.

I just lost mine in December to cardiac hemangiosarcoma. Catahoula/ Lab mix. I don't know if I could have done anything differently. He was doing great otherwise: 14 years old, I'd been giving him turmeric, glucosamine/chondroitin/yogurt;green tea etc every day. He's been eating Taste of the Wild for a number of years, with a lot of fresh food added, and occasionally raw food. He was limber, active, could jump a few feet up onto boulders, was mentally alert... hadn't slowed down. I'd stopped vaccinations and flea/tick meds during the pandemic. He was fine, and then within a few hours he wasn't. I'm still blown away.

So sorry for your loss 😢 i lost my pitbull last month he went from great looking, active to all of a sudden couldn’t get up on his own, barely ate i take him to hospital and they tell me he needs surgery bc they found a mass around his pancreas… then they text me asking authorization to remove his pancreas saying its not an important organ and he can live without it he would just be like a diabetic… me thinking i just want the best for him i said yes. One week later he passed away. I was on my way to see him at the hospital when the nurse sent me a 1.5 mns voicenote telling me he went into cardiac arrest and they tried everything they could but he didn’t make it and she was sorry. I almost caused several accidents on my way there i was screaming, i was in shock. I feel like i should’ve never went through that surgery. I miss him so much. He was 13 yrs old. Just a week ago they texted me again to ask me for the rest of what i owe them from the surgery. I’m traumatized 😞💔

I also think, aside from diets, if the dog is happy, having ample exercise or any outdoor fun, that would make a difference too. I feed my dog with home cooked food, sometimes mix with those expensive air dried stuff that has currently been in trend, and he enjoys it. I also have kibbles in hand as sometimes I tip in 1/3 or 1/2 a cup just to make the meal more interesting. With that said, it's difficult to pinpoint exactly how to make our best friend lives forever. My aunt's dogs live on Pedigree kibbles and its cans (it was the only popular brand like 30yrs ago), and she would also bring home leftover food like butter buns and bread!, and fed them. Her dogs lived up to 15 and 16 yrs old. So I personally think it can't just be the food, but I have no clue what else.

I think this is true. This happened to my dog. It looks like a lot of these "pet hospitals" were purchased by private equity and they completely f*cked the industry up. I had a cat 10 years prior and he got wonderful care so I thought nothing of it when my dog went in. It's terrible what happened to the industry. My dog deserved the very best and they failed her 💔 I can see why no one is adopting animals anymore. As you can see, all of the shelters are in crisis because of these bad businesses. Investors should never be allowed in any industry that deals with life. Well-being and health of the patients (or even their own employees) is just not the priority it should be.

Thank you for your wisdom. I am not a fan of main stream medicine. I have wanted to ask you a few questions, some topics I've done searches in your channel with nothing popping up. I'm facing my 15 yo lab mix boy's declining health. He started a dry cough, sometimes will dry heave from all the coughing. He'll sleep fine, then the breathing issues return. I have palpated his throat, chest, found fluid in the right abdominal region. Though no discomfort. He's become incontinent (and a huge thirst which makes me think of diabetes) and developed a drunken walk, yet other times he trots along just fine. His shoulders and haunches have no muscle to speak of now. I had given him elderberry for the coughing, but cannot see any relief. I give him papaya tablets when it seems like his stomach is bothering him. I already use some of what you have described. I forgot about Hawthorn so I'll give him that to see if it gives some relief. I thought I was going to have to put him down today, he was plaintively looking at me while wobbling and struggling to remain standing. Unfortunately on a set income, I could not afford the $530.00 they wanted to just put him down, no cremation. I am heartbroken and want him to be comfortable. I wondered about Benadryl but read that some dogs have seizures. I have not tried MSM, for any of the joint relief. I just picked up Krill oil for myself, and was intending on sharing. CBD didn't seem to give him any relief, even relaxing his cough. He's an indoor dog, with cats. And I thought there could be a cat allergy. With that I did give him children's benadryl, but I am not 100% sure he had any relief. I'm sure it's near time but I really don't know what to do to make his transition. Thank you again. Sorry for blathering on.

I used it topically a couple years back when my dog had a horrible wound on her shoulder and it healed it quickly and took her pain away. It worked better than any med my vet ever gave me. But that was easy because I just dropped it on. So I believe internally it could work just as well but have no idea on dosage.

My GSP was super healthy, until he was 6 mo old and was injured by one of the many safe and effective quackcines. It took me six months of feeding raw, and turmeric and charcoal to stop his reoccurring UTI’s. The vet swore up and down it wasn’t that, but when I told him that the new one he gave my dog had it’s own complaint site online and numerous owners complained about UTI issues after their dog received it too. He just muttered and switch the topic. Needless to say, I wasn’t going to listen to his recommendation on feeding expensive Hills Science, which wasn’t going to fix anything! My next 2 dogs, I knew better, and limited which ones and how often they get jabs. I don’t give worthless ones like the kennel cough and Lyme, which doesn’t stop them from getting it anyways.

I have used it for my ibs arthritis and Lymphoma blood cancer and after 3rd month my consultant shouted at me " What have you been doing there's a marker where you had it now we can't find it anywhere " 1tsp a day in food buy from eBay or horse supplies

I definitely don’t want to give my dogs any more vaccines because I see the negative effects on them. I have two havanese that need grooming regularly and that would be yearly rabies vaccines. Is there any way to get your dog groomed without having them loaded with vaccines?

Do you have a email I could send a question to? I’ve had a dog for 10 years now and took to several vets (most small town vets) so far their conclusion is anxiety and he is now on Prozac but I feel that’s not what is actually wrong. Seeking help

Doc Andrew....how often should a dog get distemper shots?? My Chi of 14mo. has had the initial set of 3 , and rabies. Now the vet wants to give more distemper. What does my pup really need?

Our little Chiweenie, has two heart murmurs, level 6. One day we came home his nose and face were swollen. because all the vet will do is 2 weeks on 2 weeks off, and antibiotics, he's lost a lot of weight, we thought we were going to lose him, I made him eat and made him take his medicine, and he's stronger, but has like a stuffy nose with bloody mucus? the vet won't check him because he doesn't want to excite him.

Dr. Jones I have heard that cloves are good spice for cancer. I was wondering if any studies have been done for dogs on this and if a dog had cancer would this help?

I was recently forced to get my 9 year old Maltese a rabies vaccine in southwestern Ohio or the vet clinic said they could not clean her teeth...Also what about Parvovirus and Distemper shots if you take your dog to the groomer frequently? My Maltese is due for these shots this month..Also what are your thoughts on the ProHeart 12 vaccine??

Hey, Doc, can you say something about vaccines for rescue dogs? I rescued a corgi that seems to be somewhere between 5-8 years old, but I am unclear about vaccines. I have no idea what she has had. Your thoughts?

@@Channel23--Awen In Illinois, I think the titer test won't work to stop from getting the rabies vaccine, I think they have to a serious condition for example cancer etc. That's what my vet told me, but every state is different. It all about the money!

What is your take on the Holistic Rabies Merial IMRAB 3 vs the regular rabies vaccine? Would you recommend the Holistic version if it is required in the state we live in? Thank you!

4:24 You made a video last year on vegan dog food, but have you found out more about that topic since? I have a dog who seems to have kidney/bladder issues, and she's eaten standard kibble all of her life. In human diet, these issues are often linked to animal protein consumption. Switching to more natural whole food plant based diet is a very effective solution for humans, and NutritionFacts has a lot of evidence to back this. Can the same be said for dogs? That study that showed animals that were fed vegan diets had better health outcomes. Where can we learn more about the optimal diet for dogs, and treatments that are vegan?

My dog was a bear snouted American bully he was half bulldog but he didn't have the bracephylictic face his first owner said he was the runt of the litter so did he have portosystemic shunt? I still do not know because if he did that is a genetic predisposition to his breed. he was a healthy dog his whole life but something happened in the last few months of his life his old owner had fed him kibble I had him on the bones and raw food diet barf diet most of his life I rescued him at a year old I really thought he was going to make it to 16 when I took him to last vet they told me dogs of his breed usually only make it to 5 or 6 im astonished at that

My dog has, what looks like a knot that kinda is like a splinter and my other dog bite it while playing. It has gotten bigger. It is on the side of his big paw pad and it is causing pain, he won't stop licking it. I don't know what to do. It is open, when I noticed it it looked like a volcano but now it looks like a marble or the size of a marble? What should I do?
@vicky11610 ай бұрын
It could be lipoma or adenoma. Get the open wound treated faster cause infection can cause a lot more issues later as I unfortunately found out. Dogs tend to scratch and bite at their wounds please put a collar on, no matter how much they hate the cone.

I'm replying as a dog owner, not expert, but if it's open I'd be worried about an infection for starters. I'd suggest a vet appointment to find out what sort of growth or lump it is. I'd also put coconut oil on it as often as possible since your dog(s) are licking/chewing it. You could also try zinc oxide power ( on top of the coconut oil) to help dry the bump up. The only thing is neither you nor your pet should breath any of the power so I'd tap some on and let the rest fall off right away or wrap the paw, even in a sock, to protect the "open part for at least an hour or two. For the pain, I use Curcumin95 but I suggest you watch Dr. Jones' video on Pain Medications- the BEST on pain medication for dogs !!!!!!! 💯**** Lastly, I don't know your competency or comfort but there is an antiseptic chemical formulation that becomes, and stains, purple, and is highly flammable in it's original state which works well for drying open, raw paws. I'm not naming it now since you don't know what exactly you're dealing with on your own dog. Good luck - definitely a visit to a conventional vet is still the best option as soon as possible because you honestly don't want it to get infected. That will just make the entire scenario 100 times worse. 🍀🐾
