I had my vision of Jesus in 2017. I was not Christian. I wasn't spiritual. I didn't pray to God. I did not own or read a bible. During the year of 2017 I had just got over a major surgery. I had been struggling with my health for about 8 years at this point. My life had been turned upside down and I was very depressed. One morning in my sleep a vivid image of Jesus appeared and he was looking straight at me with a sad expression on his face. This image woke me up from my sleep even though it appeared in my head while I was dreaming. I sat up in bed and I could still see him. I thought I must be still dreaming, so I got out of bed and went to turn my light on in my room and that was when my lightbulb exploded. At that moment I knew I was awake and this was not just a dream. Afterwards the image of him faded. But I will always remember how he looked and how he looked sad at me and I could feel and sense his thoughts even though he did not speak. I felt he was sad I had not come to him in my suffering. Needless to say after that experience, I started praying and reading the bible for the first time in my life.

Amazing testimony. I was also a lifelong atheist and skeptic until December 2017 (Christmas Eve, to be specific), when seemingly out of the blue, I took a leap of faith and gave my life to Jesus. I figured, "Well, that's that." I had never read the Bible or heard about what happens when someone is saved so I had NO idea what was about to happen to me. As I'm sure you know, your ENTIRE life changes! Even the way you see the world is turned upside down. It's like living your whole life in black and white and all of a sudden you can see in color! I had my own medical issues that I was dealing with at the time until whoosh, they were gone one day. I can absolutely relate with how weird it feels saying the name Jesus without it being an insult or something mocking. Lord, I so deeply regret that part of my life. I don't ever want to live in this world without a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ, and I'm sure most here feel the same way. May God bless you, sister, and thank you for sharing.

Wow, amazing testimony!! Praise Jesus!!! I totally understand the part where you said your eating disorder was basically an addiction. I lived as a lesbian for over 15 years. I was in such DEEP bondage to that sin. It was a sad, miserable, terrible existence. I was truly beyond broken. I had made a HUGE mess of my life for so many years. I called out to Jesus...I BEGGED Him for help. I couldn't go on like that any longer. Guess what...He showed up, He carried me, He healed me, He broke those HEAVY chains and set me COMPLETELY free!!! I woke up one day and those desires, temptations were just GONE! I was tormented by them for YEARS and they were gone!! I cannot ever thank Him enough for ALL He has done for me! Boy, the difference between me as an addict trying to stop, pulling a day or a few months even 2 + years but never freedom. The battle always remained and eventually I always relapsed back to it.. But when Jesus removes an addition its total freedom, the war is over as if it never existed. Praise God. all glory is his alone. Amen

I am a former atheist as well. I hear a lot of testimonies that say “I used to be atheist”. I think most of the time when people say that, they mean a non believer aka non religious. An atheist is often combative to religious beliefs. That’s a little different than being non religious. I can tell by listening to this woman that she is being honest and was in fact an atheist. Praise Jesus for saving her.

Congratulations. Truly. Listening to your testimony reminds me of my own. I had been stubbornly against organized religion my entire life because of encounters I had with religious people when I was younger. Had no desire or reason to believe in God. In 2010, however, I was at rock bottom. Had been laid off from my job, wife left, friends had all disappeared, with no hope or future and I sat in my living room and said "God, if you're real, reveal yourself to me and I'll do whatever it is you want." He did that night, I gave my life to Christ, two weeks later was baptized, and have been a follower of Jesus ever since. Praise God.

Praise God! This testimony really resonates with me, I had a very similar conversion. I too was an intellectual, but Jesus helped me to see it was all in my mind. I was in college and the professors could not answer my questions about the universe, so I began to study on my own. After about a year of studying science and religions, I could neither prove nor disprove if God was real. But I also realized what we believe goes back to trusting the information we learn is accurate. Faith is always at the foundation of any world view be it science or religion. So, I thought if God is real, why don’t I just ask God to show me. In my mind I said, God if you are real, I’m open to you. That small act of humility was all God wanted. Within a few days, an amazing thing started to happen. As I would go about my day, Bible verses would pop up in my mind, not chapter and verse, but the words. God was talking to me through the Bible and was giving me a deep understanding of my actions and thoughts. Over time I realized that God was very real and that Jesus is His son. I gave my life to Him and He has transformed me. Anyone who reads this and wants to know if Jesus is really the Son of God, it’s so simple, just ask Him to reveal Himself to you. You might have a million questions or objections, but just ask with sincerity and God will reveal Himself to you in a very personal way.

This is such a powerful testimony. God is clearly at work in your life! When I was in Bible college one of my professors said something like “God allows us to experience trials in this life so that He can use us to help others who struggle with the same trials.” I believe with great certainty Christ is going to use you to help other women who struggle with the same eating disorders and He is going to use your testimony to reach others who don’t believe in God. When hearing about how Christ healed you, it reminded me of the woman who had an issue with blood. And she had just enough faith to think, "if I could just touch His tassels..."(Matthew 9:20-21). She had faith in Him. Scripture says that if we have faith as a small as a mustard seed, it will move mountains (Matthew 17:20). And when you were sitting there, desperate and crying, and you cried out in your mind, "JESUS" - that was your mustard seed moment. Beautiful. He wants us to know Him and seek Him with a genuine heart (Jeremiah 29:13), and that's exactly what you did! I'm so happy for you as you continue on this journey. Remember that He, and His Word is your rock and foundation (Matthew 7:24-27). Stay steadfast in Him as He is ever faithful. :-)

I had a similar experience with anxiety. I was consumed by it my whole life. Never wanting to leave the house, loss of appetite, constant pacing and heart racing. In an instant, the feeling of love overcame. And it was a love, like you said, that’s hard to explain because it’s something that you’ve never experienced before. Literally out of this world. Hello. I have a similar background. Was a staunch atheist until one day breaking down and calling out to Jesus Christ. I felt a calm and cooling energy come into my body and washing away all troubles and worries. I wouldn't call myself a Christian today (I do study christian mysticism) though I would say the same experience was a pivotal point in me accepting some sort of power higher than myself. I'm happy you've had this experience and I wish you the best in your journey.

Hi bro! Why not give your life and Jesus completely and repent of your sins? That’s the only way to eternal life. Everything else (mysticism, new age Christianity, etc.) will not lead you to eternal life. I was caught up in “Christ consciousness” which claims to be “Christian” new age. It’s all a lie brotha. I know exactly what you're saying. I had a very similar experience. You were filled with His agape(research this if you haven't yet!) love. I was a teenager at the time it happened to me, crying so hard in my bedroom. I wasn't sure what happened and I looked for confirmation, but not enough and I put it on the backburner for 10 years! A couple years ago I came across some near death experience videos and some of them explained this feeling of love almost in my own words and the light bulb immediately turned on and I've been on fire ever since seeking after Him. I've tried and tried to explain the feeling. I feel like I probably have annoyed others with how often I bring it up, but it is the defining moment of my whole life. It is the backbone to what drives me forward. It's my anchor to Jesus in this increasingly worldly world. Any explanations I give are never enough. I seek for more to help me understand it and relive it. The best explanation I have come up with, which was my original explanation years ago, is I felt like I was a baby being held by it's mother, completely safe and completely loved. All my worries were non existent. When you're a baby literally all you know is the love of your parents. It was like only He and I existed and it was exactly like you said, it felt like His love for me was flowing into me and all around me. The atmosphere was so safe and secure feeling. After this experience I was changed for a long time. I had His love in me and shared it with others. I was so patient and gentle and loving. And all this happened without me ever understanding what had happened to me. But God knew where I would be 10 years later.

This brought me to tears. Thank you for bravely sharing your story. He never lies. I remember the famous passage: knock and it shall be opened unto you; seek ye and ye shall find. God never forces Himself on us, but I believe there is something in all of us that seeks Him. The Orthodox call it the Nous. Anyway, I hope that you have found peace. One thing I never considered is that when He went to the cross, it wasn't just that He took a giant one for the team, but He took on all our hurt, our pains, the consequences of our decisions, etc., and He felt it. He felt that moment when you were so overwhelmed that you called Him, and He redeemed it. Hold tight to Him. He will never ever, ever lead you down the wrong road. I will pray for you, sister. I remembered I had a really bad dream before I became born again. I thought I’m going to die in my dream as I couldn’t breathe and move my body. Correction: Jesus is Not the truth, Jesus is the Fact. Google the word 'truth' and Google will tell you it is a 'noun', when it is not, it is a 'verb'. Jesus was not a 'verb' - he is the Fact. Fact and Truth are worlds apart, the world is not big enough to hold those two words as one. Hence why Jesus is the Fact, and Not a verb. A Fact is a Fact, and a fact cares not about your emotions, because a fact will tell you the Fact - because your truth is different to my truth, although your Fact is the same as my Fact. And the Fact is, a Fact really does not care about your emotions at all. Before it become a Fact it was truth, it was hear say and peoples thinking on a subject or matter, then that information got sliced and beat up badly, and than it was healed and become a Fact. I have gone thru some similar things in my own walk. I grew up in the pentecostal church but I had gone through so much soul searching last year. I was searching and searching for God, for myself, not just what I was raised to believe. I always knew it was ALL about JESUS. I’ve heard and seen so people get offended when someone says His name with reverence, like you felt. His name is above all names. Praise God for you and your testimony, It gives life!! think.biblical Oh my! You felt the Spirit?? That is amazing to hear from someone who is also saved. You have no idea how much that strengthened and built me up. That was incredibly reassuring to my heart. I’m challenged daily with feelings of doubt about whether I am truly born-again, am filled with the Holy Spirit, and if my praying in the Spirit is genuine and a gift from God. I constantly feel nudging from the Lord about standing firm on who I am in Christ. I spent much of last year learning what He did for us. We are Chosen, Set Apart, Redeemed, Set Free, Beloved, Heirs of Christ, and so much more. Every bit so life-changing. But I still so often question my faith and have had to hide it so much in the last six months more and more. I think we are so close to going home too!!! I pray for all who are not saved and don’t know Christ. Lord help us to encourage one another and thank you for leading me to this precious Sister and Daughter of Christ. 💖

I was atheist and very arrogant and prideful. I started studying all religion to prove them wrong. Many were easily done, until I came to the bible. Read through the bible and how everything that was written lined up with everything I believed without knowing the bible. Seeing the history being remarkably accurate as well as the prophecies being too accurate for random chance. Which lead to me down a path to pray and seek God. He revealed himself through Christ and the messages he left for us in the bible. I believe in every word that is written when once I mocked. Born again my old self dead to this world, I try to speak to everyone that will listen to spreading his word. We all are waiting for his coming and the kingdom where we belong. God speed to you and all those that believe.
