I'm a believer but I don't go to church, I pray and talk to God, but don't read the Bible and I give thanks to God. But I'm not sure that's enough on my part in my relationship with God. I feel like I don't have a true relationship ship because I don't do all the things that Christians do.

When you said you "don't read the bible" thats where you find His authority and the confidence to stand 10 toes down on His Word, His promises, His path for your personal life. I have a friend who’s husband has a terminal illness, they have two children 7 and 5. Fasting and praying for his healing their family really upped my walk in the spirit. Like their wellbeing became secondary to my own at one point. I knew God was looking out for me but praying for them became priority! Never had I experienced such spiritual breakthrough. The presence of God was the sweetest I couldn’t wait to get back to Him/back to the word.

Your spiritual growth and journey are so inspiring to watch and listen to! I pray that God keeps your heart pure and on fire for Him in Jesus name!

I remember your LA days as a photographer, when you had your business, when you closed the business, and a host of other adventures leading you to find Max, marriage and family. Spiritual warfare is real because God is real. I love the little comic reenactment (9:55) of Ephesians 6:17 the sword of the spirit! It's funny but it's real. The armour of God is needed and I pray we can all put on our armour when the enemy strikes. It's true, the more closer we become to God, the more the enemy wants to divide, destroy steal and kill with its tactics. I'm going over this video many times and making notes. Thank you Maya. My son consistently wakes up at 3 am every night and I help him go back to sleep but then I end up having trouble going back to sleep. @originalmix2546 Fasting is a spiritual act so it's hard to explain how it works, but you spend time in prayer and abstain from sin and eating for a period of time and somehow through it, God gives you strength to resist temptation when it arises and you also gain spiritual discernment. If you have demons, they will exit your body after a time. Mark 9:29 And he said unto them, This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting. Avoid worldly entertainment & social media, spend time singing to God, reading your bible, praying, and just drink water. The more you want to overcome is the more days you fast.

I believe those that are praying for those lengthy hours are splitting them up through out the day with a mixer of using their heavenly language/tongues and natural. Fasting Kills the flesh as to why it’s difficult at first but once you master self control and not bow to your stomach nothing can stop you. True Biblical fasting is turning down one’s plate/cup. Abstaining from tv/ social media, etc is simple sacrifices or consecrating. But does bring deliverance, revelation and cleansing.Reading Gods word brings revelation and direction as well as it is a living thing breathed from God. This definitely reminds me that we are not alone in this walk! I am in a season of learning Jesus and His character better and in my 7 years of claiming that I am a Christian, I don't believe I've ever sat to truly take the time to say "Hey God, I wanna get to know you". I truly desire to know him in spirit and in truth. Though I have the spiritual knowledge and can pray in the spirit etc there is something about Him being hidden in our hearts that I am trying to grasp and cling onto. It feels like I am a baby again trying to learn how to walk, but I appreciate how merciful He is to have given me the opportunity to take those small steps again and truly learn how to workout my salvation. Before this I was spiritual exhausted engaging in all the spiritual things and becoming aware of demons that I think I lost consciousness of the true power of God! He is so GOOD!

I am literally going through all of this right now, I had to pray and ask God to let me know when to read and stop in the Bible because I noticed I was reading a chapter everyday just to read and say I read! But was barely remembering and understanding sometimes. But now I read and meditate sometimes in one sentence or a small paragraph and I'm taking away more than I was when I was reading one full chapter !! Always love your videos ! I’ve been praying in the morning around 8 AM. (Toronto time) Starts off with a devotional (trying to also add in some writing into my gratitude journal) then I get straight into prayer! The “Our father prayer” comes first then whatever else comes to Mind. I’ve also been fasting up until 6PM each day, it gets easier with each day but much easier to do when keeping busy. ❤ My spiritual walk has been fantastic ! God has been revealing so much to me about him and myself ! It’s necessary.

I was just beating myself up last night for not reading the word enough and feeling guilty because I’m always wanting to read for long periods but it’s important to just understand that just 5 mins reading is good food. Thanks for your tips. All of them I believe I do regularly, so this was a good reminder that there are others like me out there, and we’re on the right Jesus track. I read the entire bible from Old to New Testament yearly by reading one chapter (or more) daily starting from Genesis to Revelations. In addition to reading the entire bible, each month I add a chapter from the book of Proverbs. Since it has 31 chapters and the months are 30 to 31 days (except February), each Proverbs’ chapter corresponds to a day in the month. Once the month ends, I’m usually done Proverbs, and when the new month begins, I again start back reading Proverbs from the beginning. This routine originated from Pastor Derek Prince, and it really has helped me get much wisdom in my life. So I’m usually reading two chapters daily. But of course I also make room for revelation scriptures the Holy Spirit guides me to read.

In my spiritual walk, praising, and singing hymns to myself over my circumstances like the army in 2Chronicles, they were on the front lines to fight in battle and they chose to sing & God fought their battle for them as they were praising Him. Praise confuses the enemy as I overcome and claim victory over my mind, period

Wow, when you mention that you didn't know how to pray. I can relate to that. For some reason growing up, I was not taught how to pray, I was given prayer to recite and when I got older it's like I was supposed to know how to. I had to learn how to pray as well. I learnt through eating and drinking the WORD, an elder at church taught me by breaking down the Lord's Prayer and I also looked for resources on KZbin. Yes, when you get up early all our prayers go up to God as sweet incense. 5 am Trinidad and Tobago time 😊🙏🏽 keeping going, God is doing something wonderful in his people.

Lately I've been meeting with a group of women for bible study and prayer. I've been a believer almost all of my life, and I've gone through periods of intense community, intense questioning, intense service, and more recently intense solitude. Now, I have been really benefitted from committing to this weekly bible study and am thankful God led me to them.

This is such a good video subject! So I just try to thank God, praise God, make requests, and thank Him again. But that’s real short right. So I love to pray the rosary; that is a game changer for peace in my soul. And I’m looking into books now because I have some serious family issues that I’m going to need to go hard for. I really want to get better at memorizing scripture too! Because it’s so powerful to quote when you need it.

Excited for the next videos on this topic 🙌🏽👏🏽 I’m telling you, when praying in tongues time does not exist 🙌🏽 I get up like is it the same day?! The other day I felt so weak, but I spoke the first scripture that came to mind and it caused me to go deep in prayer and God strengthened me right there! Having His word in our hearts is such a powerful weapon when times are tough. The scripture I said was: Isaiah 40:31 KJV “But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint”.

I also love listening to instrumentals while I pray. William Augusto has beautiful albums solely for worshiping or “soaking” in God’s presence. It’s what helped me stay in prayer longer. The pressure to pray words is removed and I end up singing or just praising God for who he is. Edit: and thank you for these tips Maya! It’s been such a joy watching your content shift to speaking about Jesus more. I’m on the same journey myself and really needed that encouragement to memorize scriptures 🥴

Hey, absolutely love this video and really wish I had a community woman that I could sit and talk about. Give my life to Christ about two years now and fasting has been one of those things that intimidated into the core and I know it’s just a strategy of the enemy to keep me trapped. I try to fast again this month and completely buckle on day two. I’ve been asking God to help me with this because I am so weak in this area. I know that he’s calling me to fast and be a little bit more intimate with him, but my flesh really needs to be killed. I won’t let him win because I know that I can do all things through Christ to strengthen me.
