I bought Bastion back in the days. I bought Transistor on PC and Switch. And i bought Hades on both systems. Just to support devs like this. And of course the games are really great. No microtransactions. Epic storytelling. Rly nice gameplay. I wish there were more companies like that. Keep it up folks. Im 39 now and i hope to have you produce more along the way / in the coming years.

Man I wish this panel was like 4x longer. Ya'll could spend an hour on each game and I'd be enthralled throughout. There is not a single other developer who I admire as much as Supergiant. Four games, four masterpieces. So excited to see what you all come up with next.

Maybe because they're not marketed enough like other "AAA" games, though, arguably, their games are AAA. In any case, I think Hades might be the one for Supergiant Games to break into the public masses? At least with gamers that follow all the game award shows and such, because Hades is really raking in those awards. Overall, they're being recognised by the industry, even beating - if not going toe-to-toe with - giants like Naughty Dog (The Last of Us 2) and id Software (Doom Eternal). Anyhow, this lot is just inspiring!

I just bought Hades, but after watching this, I REALLY wanna play Transistor again. Fuck! I wanna try the game again with totally different skill combinations. I loved that mechanic _so_ much that I have outright stolen concepts from it in personal games I make for my friends. I also think, _because_ it's so unique of a gameplay experience, that it perplexes a lot of players, which is (in my opinion) the sign of creating something new. You see the same thing happen when players pick up a souls game for the first time and how their emotion changes when the game finally "clicks" for them. The initial hurdle of wrapping your brain around a new thing, and the exhilaration of the design coming together in your head.
@corywashington95804 жыл бұрын
I 100% agree with this. Transistor was such a surreal experience for me and it really respects player intelligence. It gives you room to kinda figure out not only how deep the gameplay is, but how complex the story is as well. It just comes together so beautifully. One of my favorite gaming experiences of all-time.
@carlosdumbratzen63323 жыл бұрын
Yes! When I first started I compared it to league with the 4 abilities and a passive, but when I realized that I could combine them in different ways and that doing so unlocks story/lore elements I was completely blown away. And then the pause mechanic, that allows for another layer of gameplay choices. Do I anchor my abilities around playing in the paused mode, in the active mode or a combined variation. Such cool gameplay choices

It's good to see people from the glory days of Command and Conquer creating games that are amazing and that I still naturally gravitate to the games they create like I did in my childhood. It also shows that creating good games requires, and I mean absolutely requires people who love making games. When big companies like EA push people like these and even literally some of these, out they lose the soul of their game. Supergiant is when all those people with soul work in the same company. Sorry I ranted, but I love Supergiant Games. I listen to the music of these games regularly, just to relive the stories. Please, keep doing what you are doing.

The bad thing about your games is that I cant decide which is the best. I guess the story I most connected with was Transistor and all the other aspects of it are also great. But I really really liked Bastion and recently I replayed it and it is still so much fun with another great ending. But Pyre has this element of sportsgames to it, where you "manage" your team and because you have all these ways to interact with the characters you really build a connection to them. When I first approached the final rite I sent Hedwyn back, because I felt he longed most for it, but also I let him play most of the time. Then I realized I wouldnt see him again. When I reached it again I could have sent Jodariel back and I remember, that she kind of got angry that I didnt let her, but I just liked her being "in the gang" and also she was often the carry of the matches. That this game made me feel so connected to its characters was amazing and something I normally dont have. And Hades has just such an addictive gameplay loop and so so many hidden elements to it. On top of all this the community interaction and how you upload the OSTs to youtube and stuff (even though I bought all the soundtracks since Transistor) makes it really hard to not like you as gamedeveloper. I hope you will bring out more great games and please please please dont be afraid to do weird or different stuff
@machtundrebel31275 жыл бұрын

Free market, Baby!!! On a more serious note, they are just abusing the corporate system to get moar money. Who knows whether it was unadulterated greed or moar money because having a financial safety net is a thing, or simply being paid? Relatively, there’s a lot worse way to abuse the system of reality to make money.
