Despite recent comments about too much banter or Rick being too dumb in the podcast (I think it’s just the right amount of banter and playing to the audience), can I say that the Running Channel Meets series has really allowed us to see Rick’s serious and humane journalistic side, and a level of intelligence and seriousness not projected in the regular weekly podcasts. Keep it up. This week’s episode of Meets… almost had me in tears.

Totally agree. The chemistry between the 3 is perfect, Rick is hilarious, I listen to the podcast while I’m running and the laughs and the jokes make me zone out and just keep going.

Rick is funny Andy is surprisingly laid-back considering how much he achieved in running and smashed it studying engineering too. I like Sarah too, she is so relatable when she struggled at the start of her running journey.

‘Am I more capable than I think I am?’ Brilliant statement! I remember having read ‘Reach for the sky’ by Sir Douglas S Bader during my summer vacations. I was in class seventh (1967) and I had randomly picked this up thinking it was a Western novel! It changed my life. Today I have friends and colleagues who are physically challenged and we all run together. It has been a great learning for all of us. Their handicaps are visible ours are hidden! Thank you for this great show and warm regards to the giant Ant. Rick and Sarah have handled this very sensitively. Thank you TRC!

I really enjoy listening to TRC Meets on my runs! All these different perspectives from runners who have perservered through their own unique situations is insperational and throught provoking. I feel like this series is a great primer for those of us who dont know a whole ton about the sport or inspirational figures within it, and for me personally has reminded me that we are all one community, no matter what our individual situations or struggles are.

@@runningchannel Only person who comes to mind for me is Chris Bennett because Nike Run Club really inspired me to get deeper into running. (Not sure how feasible this is given he’s based in the US as well, logistics are hard!) However, maybe someone inspirational or influential in terms of running clubs or park run, etc? I love learning about different stories and paths into running since I didn’t truly understand how much I enjoy it until my early 30s.
