I speak with Leandro Fonteles, or Leo as we call him. A Brazilian football player who came to ply his trade in Thailand. Originally from Manaus in Brazil, he has transversed the US on football scholarships before ending up in Thailand. This is his story.
He also works as a personal trainer, and is currently coaching a football academy in Bangkok.

Midfielder!! Great interview! What an incredible story! I think it is important for many (especially Kenyans!) to see that well learned people would take on professional sports as careers. Excellent advise Leandro! Also, well done sticking to your passion and taking it further despite injuries. All the best. Also, I think the number of foreigners depends on the Division league. Muang Thong Thani FC for example has more than 5 foreign players.

Interesting. I bet it depends on the division league then. I did like his story, and his academic credentials as well.

This is a really interesting interview Bryan. I enjoyed it and it's great to have an insight into a Thailand-based professional footballer from overseas. Although super cheesy, I would've liked to see him perform some skills at the end or maybe a clip from a game. This interview is VERY good subject matter indeed!

I linked a video card of his playing skills within my video, but I bet it was easy not to see it. Thanks for checking it out!

I think being a midfielder is really challenging as you play many roles in that position. Leandro has so many talents. The academic side and the athletic side. It's really impressive! Great interview and very interesting content :)

When you experience what is outside the walls of your home and city, you will also appreciate the life you have been given within those walls to a much greater degree. And despite finding some curves along the way we became better for it. Go after your dreams and be the better version of yourself! 🥰👏 Great interview!

Surely you have to have something to fall to if your talent doesn’t work out in the future. Education is very important. Plus he is very bright on how he tackles and views life .
