@@Mariaelegance Buddha belonged to Shakya republic which lie in present day Nepal's Lumbini. His birthplace is clearly marked within Nepal borders. Furthermore, the Shakya republic got attacked from the south which led the Shakya people to escape and take refuge in Kathmandu valley. They are part of the Newar community in Kathmandu valley and are the builders of almost all of those stupas you see in the video

patan is actually not a hindu city it is one of the very important buddhist city and a lot of buddhist monks and toursit visit there , there are some old and important buddhist religious sites in patan , Nepal is mixed of hindusim and buddhisim so i can understand people can sometimes get confused

Yeah it's historically known for Buddhism since ancient times but the main durbar square is full of Hindu temples of medieval times as Malla kings were Hindu
