Just ordered it. It arrives tomorrow. Can I use it on my propagations (that are in soil)?

I have been a Maryo supporter from the very first live! That first live was a well planned but very “unsure” sale at the beginning. He was soooo shy. Lots of variegated ZZ plants. 😂 Near the end, he didn’t want to stop the live because he was doing so well. It was very late, so he went and grabbed a grow light to keep going. I think he just kept going until his phone died. I watched the transformation they went through, from unsure of their success to certainty of their success. I was there when they announced the closing of their store, and everyone was afraid of them leaving completely. But they just ramped up their PlantStory game. They already had their loyal following, but then NWE started doing cacti and regularly mentioning Maryosucculents, and he paired with Yaya. These just added to their success. After watching this, I am reminded that I need to go take care of all of my Maryo plants. There are so many!

I visited their location about 3.5 yrs ago and they had an amazing greenhouse. My daughters weren’t happy since they were adeep in Vista and they hated the winding roads🤭. I didn’t buy a string of hearts but purchased a Hoya Pottsi and H. Rotundiflora which I still have.

I always try and buy from nurseries and small businesses. I find you get a much better, healthier plant because they have been grown from love. I can't tell you how many box store plants I see that have been overwatered and rotting. Good luck to this guy and well done to him for following his dreams 👏 ❤

Back in my home country we eat mostera fruits all the time and it has an amazing flavour we call it the fruit of 7 flavours, as sometimes it ranges from a pineapple flavour, or banana, apple, its super good. Great video and it's great to see that that family managed to get through with their business, love this format of videos, keep up the great work.

I.e monstera ...I have a theory that we fuss so much about nutrients and soil and I agree we need chunky mixes but in the wild they have sunlight and soil so it is possible for them to grow that way. I just feel sometimes like things get overly complicated. It's the same with misting ..some people swear by misting some people swear not too. Sometimes it can be confusing and hard work for newer plant parents. I've put mine in the shower before lol I'm not saying its wrong to give plants nutrients (I have done) or that it's wrong or right to mist. What I'm saying is along as you have free draining soil and light then plants should do just fine.
@jackiewhitney50317 ай бұрын
I go with your logic as well. There are no people out in the wild that give these plants .....fertilizer, water, the perfect lighting......nope they grow and survive on their own. My philosophy has been "less is more"! I don't do what many plant channels do with their plants and I feel mine look better than theirs.
@Latayla7 ай бұрын
@@jackiewhitney5031only, there is lots of fertilizer in the wild. There are plenty of insects that leave their droppings behind. Leaves that breakdown etc. We don’t have that indoors
@rosewest51687 ай бұрын
@Latayla I bought worm castings and the first time I used it and mixed it in with my regular made chunky potting mix my plant went downhill so I've been too afraid to use it since.
@rosewest51687 ай бұрын
@jackiewhitney5031 I can see both sides because as plant parents and especially with rare or tropical plants I think we give the extra care and I'm sure the extras help a bit but I'm just saying I don't think they are all needed. I've seen people buy multiple bottles of fertiliser that they weight out and give. It can get expensive if you're just starting out. It was for me when I started and I'm still finding things I need to purchase the latest being stratum. I've grown monsteras for over 2 years now. I have 2 albo plants, 10 leaves propagating currently and 2 Thai's. I don't have a humidifier or a grow tent. I haven't used grow lights up until now ( I bought one the other day for a plant that's going in a darker corner.) I've used regular houseplant baby bio now and again. I give them banana water when I buy bananas instead of it going to waste. My most variegated Albo still has her white on her leaves. I've never used silica. People don't have to buy expensive moss poles any support would work. I think the most important thing is the chunky soil mix really and not overwatering.
@Latayla7 ай бұрын
@@rosewest5168 you’re absolutely right! I think people get carried away. They see influencers-people who make money on the content they make- do xyz and try to mimick that. Real moss poles aren’t needed. People who sells plants do use them as the plant roots into the pole. So once they make the cut to sell, the plant is already rooted. Us regulars can use about anything to keep it upright and from taking over our home. Ooh, the multiple bottles of fertilizer🤣 I refuse to use such a system. Any ole all purpose well balanced fertilizer will do the job. I don’t use any of the other stuff either. They just have to do with the light from our south facing window. If it can’t handle the direct light or the dappled light that provides, then maybe I shouldn’t be owning that plant. You’ll soon need to rent an apartment for all the monstera you own😅 Let me hush! I myself have an albo, a regular one, a Thai, an aurea and a green-on-green. And still debating if I’d like a mint🫢

But both Deliciosa and Borsigiana are Deliciosa. -Deliciosa would be Deliciosa Large Form -‘Borsigiana’ would be Deliciosa Small Form Deliciosa Small Form does get the ruffles on the geniculum. It just takes a long time just like it takes a longer time to get leaves as big as Large Form. Let’s be respectful to the researchers who did their best to study and clear up the confusion
