I’m 70 and haven’t flown in 30 years now. In 1976 I was able to rent a Super Cub owned by a family that operated a beautiful small airfield (Sportsmans’ Airpark) in Newberg, Oregon. I got a call from the owner one day. The Oregon State Police had purchased a PA-18 150 from a guy in Lubbock, TX who had purchased the last 22 Cubs to come off the Piper assembly line. I flew to TX and had 3 days to get the Cub back to Oregon. It had a wet compass - and no other equipment. I bought a few AAA roadmaps to go with my fairly useless sectionals and off I went. An adventure I will never forget. This is a great story and I have subscribed to your channel. Your stories bring back lots of great memories of flying into the bush in British Columbia in my 30’s. Great work. Jim

Yes to the high on panel switches. I ran the camera from inside the Airship Car for years and even in the blimp rough air would cause a lost of reference for the hands, thus a picture bobble.

It’s a beautiful bird for sure. Kind of funny but 50 years ago I bought a Super Cub 150 for $6000, added 8:50 tires and a borer prop, and made a good living flying, freight, hunters, and fishermen out of tight spots up North and things worked just fine. I don’t think anyone today would fly one of these $300,000 Cubs in to those spots

What a great story. Daniel thank you for your service and brother I'm so glad you get to fulfill your flying dreams with Super Cubs! Small world. I've met your instructor Daniel Holman. He used to be a radio controlled team pilot for Extreme Flight RC. He was damn good at that as well.
