The word conscientiously had tongue wagging on social media when newly appointed Water and Sanitation, when couldn't pronounce the word 'conscientiously'. ANC Secretary General Fikile Mbalula came to her defence and said pronouncing the word 'conscientiously' is hard. At the same time, mineral and energy minister Gwede Mantashe made a mistake while taking his oath that he'll 'divulge state secrets'

English is not a measure of intelligence it's just a language that enables people to communicate. Otherwise, she did justifiably well because her native language is good

baba try that with IELTS you will come back and delete your sentiment.😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 its not measure but ability to communicate in a crystal vivid and amicable manner whereby the reverse can have detrimental dire consequences.

I'm shocked about your way of thinking. The reality is the opposite of what you said. How can you pretend to be educated, beeing unable to speak, read, write, and listen to your education main language ? Speaking our native languages requires 1 doesn't require 18 to 19 years of education because 3 years old is able to understand and speak his native language without going to school

@@tshilombaalidor6447 This is multilingual country, so it is fascinating for me how English enables communication of different groups. However at the ministerial level pronunciation should be decent...

Gotta give South African politicians some credit. They have a sense of humour and can laugh at their gaffes. Western politicians would just blame their opponents or if they’re right-wing, Muslims, immigrants and trans people.

But during interviews you expect miracles from ordinary citizens. But that one not English as a language is the entire IQ level. Incompetency in short. IT'S THE REALITY OF COMRADES DEPLOYED WITH OUT SKILL. SHAME ON YOU.

If your intellect is measured by how well you speak one of the other 11 official languages, not your own mother tongue, would you equally measure up? Tsonga for example? It is NOT embarrassing for an African in Africa to not be familiar with complex English words. Let's not forget ourselves here. The fact that most Africans ARE proficient at English is a testimony to their superior grasp of languages as the converse is not equally true.

@@ZARia99999 Then why bother with English then? Just do it in Zulu or some other language that they can speak! No point in embarrassing yourself if you can't speak the language!

@@DeanosRidesWe use English as a medium of COMMUNICATION, not as a measure of INTELLIGENCE. One day we'll agree to an African language we can use in the SADEC region (Kiswahili) which has many similar words borrowed from different african tribes and Eastern tribes. Just like English borrowed from German, French, Latin etc
