Of note to other travelers: The name Joan is actually the Catalan equivalent of John and isn't pronounced like Joan as of Joan of Arc. Likewise, Catalans call the king Jaume, not James. The c with a tail (cedilla) is pronounced like an S in the name of your lunch spot.

Hi Melody! How far did you need to walk from the cruise port to catch the shuttle to the cathedral? How was your experience on the hop on hop off bus in Palma de Mallorca?

Hi Peggy! The shuttle was waiting right off the ship, it was not far at all. I was surprised at how easy it was to get to the Cathedral. I honestly did not love the hop on hop off bus in Palma. If we had made a better plan of what to hop off for we may have had a different experience. As it was, our only stop was closed and under construction.

@@peggytan4610 the hop on hop off is cheap! - walking. Honestly right around the cathedral is the coolest neighborhood, shopping and restaurants. You could be happy all day right there! And if you decide to hop on hop off… you can easily catch one.

We sailed on her 3rd paying passenger voyage in March. I promise to try to find some time for editing soon. :) We have MORE Barcelona too!

We planned it on our own!!! Actually the only thing we knew we wanted to see was the cathedral. And we did buy the hop on hop off bus pass prior to sailing. Other than that... we just explored! We imagined ourselves living in LaPalma ... it is THAT nice! Best advice, stop to eat something. I know the ship is waiting. But part of the experience is taste... don't skip it!

You mean you paid for the bus n didn’t get to stop anywhere else to make it worth your while. Maybe you just wanted to go to that one stop?
