We are Paul and Luisa, a cameraman and a ongoing journalist. In our videos, we show people who inspire us with concrete ideas for sustainable living. Today: Klemens Jakob and his self-sufficient house.
For a very long time, Klemens Jakob had a completely normal life: A secure job, a small apartment, a motorcycle. But he felt that something was missing. When he saw people living in poverty for the first time on his trip through the South Seas, he finally decided that he wanted to live differently. From then on, his life turned around 180 degrees.
Today, Klemens Jakob lives in his self-built house, which is completely self-sufficient. Electricity comes from his photovoltaic system on the roof, he makes gas for cooking from food scraps, and his wastewater is treated in a constructed wetland.
Klemens Jakob sold his motorcycle and quit his job. Today, he earns money by giving talks on the topic of self-sufficiency, coffin-building seminars, and helping people who want to build a self-sufficient house. Recently, Klemens Jakob even wrote a book. "I have decided to make my abilities available to life and trust that life will meet my needs. It's working wonderfully so far," he says.
A video about a man who has turned his life around and is happy in the cycles of nature.
