Both this movie and The Frighteners were originally going to be Tales From The Crypt movies before becoming their own thing, and almost ironically Bordello Of Blood came out in the exact same year and it's very similar to Dusk in a lot of ways. Good show. The Hangman's Daughter (another sequel) is actually a really good story. it's the origin story of Salma Hayek's character and it takes place at the end of the 18th century. Also, one of the main characters is a fictionalized version of Ambrose Bierce (author of the Devil's Dictionary and one of my favorite authors of all time), so there's that.

Have you watched "Tales from the Crypt: Demon Knight"? It's a pretty decent movie, even scary if you watched this as a teengager. William Sadler and Billy Zane, perfecto.

He is referring to the movie Demolition Man with Sylvester Stallone. In that movie, Stallones character is cryogenically frozen and wakes up in a future (the year 2032) where Taco Bell has won the so called franchise wars and now every restaurant is a Taco Bell.

It is great, but it's shame it had so small budget. Moment werewolf showed up destroyed movie for my. Still watch it, but can't get over how cheap they looked. Firt half of the movie was masterpiece though.

@@Muddflud it's interesting to know. I don't watch too much horror movies to be perfectly honest, so maybe my view is bit biased. I watched this movie soon after release, so memory may fade a little bit, but even when I google it now they still remind my monsters from old movies, where you clearly see the guy in the costume and I can't help it. I admit that maybe just me. Nevertheless it's great movie and I think I will rewatch it now, after you mentioned it.

I went to the movies with my pal, we were teenagers then. Befere we left, his mom was asking if there is any violence or sex in this film - so I've assured her multiple times "Noooo, no way, no such scenes ma'am." - oh boy, I was soooo wrong about it :D

I love this movie! My mom got me to watch it. She knew I was a really big horror fan and she told me to see this one but didn't give me any details on what it was about so I went in blind. I absolutely had no idea it was a vampire movie. I just thought it was some gory criminal film and then when all the vampire stuff started I was shocked and excited. It ended up being one of my all-time favorite films.
