I REALLY, love this breakdown. Great job guys. There are many pundits who should be ashamed of themselves for leading people down the rosy path thinking that we are only one Juan Soto away from competing. We have an ownership group that is a SNAKE, whispering words of prosperity and glory while STEALING everything we built up for themselves! This doesn't get better until the Johnson's are given marching papers and that means that we are royally screwed unfortunately. I hope people are ready for the Giants to be a mid-tier franchise because THAT is what's most profitable to the Johnson's.

I agree with Bora, Retool the farm system and get back to baseball fundamentals and learning how to play baseball and not home runs. Get back to manufacture runs and win games the grimy way. I don't think the Soto is the right way because you need to rebuild. We have nobody to protect Soto unless you want to put pressure on Eldridge but that would be the Farhan idea and rush a kid that isnt ready and ruin another top prospect. I think trading for Marcelo Mayer (Boston) and trading Webb and even Harrison and Doval make that happen. You get your short stop and start the rebuild and can get the pitching in the free agency.

I think we are years away from being a good team. We have a few good pieces but it's going to take some time to draft and develop younger players into Buster's vision. I know no one wants to hear this but I think it will be a while before we have a good team again. Sadly, we are in the same division as the Dodgers.
