From Flamingo Hotel Las Vegas to The Grand Canyon (and the Cost of Doing Vegas)

Las Vegas has gotten so expensive! But we were back for another visit and it was all worth it. This time we stayed at the Flamingo Hotel center strip. We traveled all the way to Grand Canyon West, rode the High Roller Wheel, checked out Bellagio Conservatory, and partied at the Go Pool Flamingo Hotel. We dined at Eataly and Bavette's Las Vegas in the MGM Park Hotel and the Overlook Grill at the Cosmopolitan. I would highly recommend all! . #lasvegas #grandcanyon #flamingohotel #money

The pool price was highway robbery! 😅 but looks like you and your family had a lovely time. I know that feeling of feeling “Vegas-ed” out even if you don’t do a lot of partying, etc.

Right! I was too busy taking my snacks back to our room (that are not allowed) so I wasn’t at the gate when he paid. I was shocked! But aside from the nickel and diming it was a wonderful trip.

Awesome Video❤❤❤! Thanks for sharing. My daughter and I actually just recently returned back home from Las Vegas. We were there for the WNBA All Star Weekend at Mandalay Bay and we had a ball! Did the Grand Canyon West tour early in our stay. You're correct, it is very beautiful there as well as dangerous! But, definitely an unforgettable sight to see! Hoover Dam was closed during our tour which was a bummer. Half of our stay was at the South Point Resort and Casino for spending reasonable relax time with a great variety of 'to do' options on pricing and pretty good slot wins. The other half was at The Circa to enjoy their Stadium Swim Pool as well as the Fremont Street Experience. Very pricey but worth it! I'll definitely plan our next trip back a year from now between September and October with a mid-week travel option as you can actually save about half in hotel fees. The July heat was brutal!! Great time though!

Thanks for watching! Sounds like you had a really nice mix of activities between a sport event, Grand Canyon, and Fremont street. I love Fremont street. We just never seem to make it down there when we stay on strip. That stadium pool sounds awesome! Never been. Just another reminder of all the fun things there are to do there! A mid week stay is great price wise. Smart move when you can swing it. Glad you enjoyed your time and as always we look forward to the next visit.

Hilton Grand Vacations located right at the Flamingo's site is another option for you on your next visit. And, they are newly renovated, private condos with full kitchens and a very nice pool!! Great reviews also! Happy traveling!

Thanks for the information. I will be in Vegas next week and doing the Grand Canyon Tour. Getting as much info as I can. I've stayed at the Flamingo before and I felt the same as you about my room. It felt outdated and beat up - lol

I know it may sound silly but I've watched so many crazy videos about crime in usa and places like San Francisco are getting really dangerous. Is it safe to drive from Las Vegas in a hired car to all those nearby national parks?? There are many confusing informations online. Also what month of the year you were there?

It’s not silly at all! The world can be a dangerous place. I personally would be comfortable booking a private car if it seems like a reputable company. I mostly book tours on Viator when I travel. They may have some private tour options. The bus we booked was through gray line tours. I felt totally safe. We were there in June. Hope this helps!

I might have to look it up and hopefully there's a barrier. OMG the heights with no barriers on the West rim is so scary 😅. I'm glad the video shared info on the shuttle bus and tix after reaching Grand Canyon. IDK, we are planning to drive from Vegas, but might skip hoover dam route b/c of fear of heights 😅😰
