I just finished this book tonight and it really was beautifully written. I hope to one day visit the battlefield of Gettysburg as well and see Little Round Top and Cemetary Ridge with the field the Confederates had to walk a mile over to try and get to Union lines. It's a great history lesson. Thanks for letting us see Little Round Top there.

Great review from Gettysburg. I really prefer Michael Sharra's writing over his son's books, and I love the 1993 movie "Gettysburg" too. My other favorite civil war novel is "Woe To Live On" by Daniel Woodrell.

These onsite videos are fantastic! Have you been to home of Dwight Eisenhower near Gettysburg? One of the things that stuck with me all these years was Eisenhower's little, personal office. There was a red phone on the desk which was the Presidential phone. It's fun to imagine what important decisions he must have made in that tiny room.

Killer Angels is a great novel. I read it after if read Shelby Foote's Civil War series.
