Wonderful scholarship & ethnography, and very moving. I have been using this film in my courses on Latin American Music at Keene State College for many years. Congratulations to Dr. Holly Wissler, Ph.D Ethnomusicology, Florida State University!

I've heard of professors using their own book for class, but their own documentary is a first. A pleasant surprise really, it's good.

This is a lovely documentary - it must have taken so much work! The ending is very thoughtful - where is the division between cultural change and cultural death? Customs that incorporate Christianity are now part of the old, traditional culture, but that wasn't always the case. How do you preserve a culture when culture is a dynamic, heterogeneous thing? Big questions with no easy answer, but it is at least important to try - thank you for the work you've done here.
