Iridescent player here, just gonna give some input throughout the vid from what I know: 3:52 This is mostly correct in my experience. I’ve found that whenever I start getting lower SR, I need to solo queue to get my high gains back. Not only do you need to solo queue and win a few games in a row, but you need to win them incredibly convincingly (100 point clubbing the other team in HP for example. Enough of those kinds of games and you’ll get more SR in no time. Of course it’s much harder than it sounds, but that’s what you have to do. Additionally, if you solo queue and don’t rely on teammates to bail you out, you’re forced to develop the skills required to hard carry every team you’re on, which in turn will net you higher ranks. 4:28 Great advice. As harsh as this sounds, if I am solo queue I go into every game expecting that my team is filled with morons and the other team is filled with 4 of Colt Havok. This is obviously not the case but you have to play like it is, ESPECIALLY if nobody is communicating. At lower ranks it’s not as serious, but if you want to climb to crim or even iri you have to be capable of doing it all, whatever your team needs of you at that moment. Rotations, timings, holding spawns, reading your minimap, soaking the hill, being good for at least 2 kills every time you spawn up, etc etc. 8:10 sub out plats for diamonds and I absolutely agree here. I get the point you’re making, but if the plats in this hypothetical had these skills they would already be diamond or crimson themselves. Those are the skills you need to develop to rank up in the first place. 12:48 this right here is why you should run a 10 minute private match free for all against bots before you play a single game, pub or ranked, every time you get on. Those 10 minutes just warming up your aim can be the difference between getting shit on your first match or playing how you usually do (or better). Just spend that time focusing on hitting center mass on your shots and missing as little as possible, and the rest will take care of itself. You can also run bot lobbies for longer if you really want to focus on improving specific parts of your gunny, like snapping to targets or hitting headshots. Lunchtime just came out with a good video on that recently I think. 14:20 I know everyone says that stacking in a squad is important, which is true if you want to push higher ranks. However, if your current squad is genuinely holding you back, do not be afraid to cut them off and stop playing with them. Even if they’re your irl friends, you gotta do what you gotta do. I can’t play with any of my irls in ranked because they’re too low and it’s not fair to them or to me. Solo queue for a while, and when you find yourself in a match where you absolutely slam the other team and everyone plays well, try and get them together after the game and 4 stack. You can find some new ranked buddies this way that are your skill level and rank up together. That’s how I met my ranked stack and we’ve been playing together for years now. Overall, whatever rank you are and whatever rank is your goal, there’s a few important skills you need to develop that will make your journey far easier. 1. First of all, work on your aim (bot lobbies like I said earlier). You can have the best comms and game sense in the world but if your gunny is bad it won’t make a difference. Conversely, you can have the best gunny in the world and it will bail you out of some situations, but someone with no game sense who can only shoot straight will max out at crim 1, maybe even diamond 3. Which leads into my next point… 2. Please please please for the love of god learn to use your minimap. I’m not kidding when I tell you that this is what turned me from a crim to an iridescent player. The minimap is your lifeline, it gives you all the info you need to make the right play on the map at any given time. Knowing where your team is on the map and what they’re watching is just as important as seeing where the enemies are from the red dots. From that you know spawns, and knowing spawns is half the battle. I’m looking at my minimap every few seconds of every game. Once you master the minimap you genuinely don’t even need your teammates comms to know exactly what’s happening on the map at all times. 3. Learn the spawns for hardpoint. This is pretty simple on its face, but you need to go deeper. You don’t just need to know WHERE the spawns are, you need to know how to effectively hold them and/or block them, and when is the right time to do so. If you want more info on the actual locations and how to hold/block them, I’d suggest a KZbinr by the name of Harrz, he does great in depth spawn guides for every map. As for when you should block or hold, that comes with more game experience, but the general standard should be that you want to be sending at least one person to rotate for new spawns with about 25 seconds left on the old hill. This also means that you do NOT want to be blocking the back spawns of the old hill with that little time left on the point, you want the other team on the back foot at all times. Leave them on the old hill even if it means giving up a few seconds of time. Too many people want to drain every last second out of whatever hill they’re on when sometimes that’s not actually in the team’s best interest 4. I’ll shortly touch on comms because it’s mostly intuitive, but the one thing I’ll say is that you need to be communicating with a purpose. Either tell me where someone is, where they’re going, where YOU are going or watching, call out when to rotate if you notice it’s not happening, call out if the spawns flip, etc etc. Pretty easy saying it, but effectively communicating is harder when you’re in the moment. Sometimes you forget, sometimes you give bad info by accident, sometimes you say someone’s one shot when they clearly have half their HP left (we all know that guy). Shit happens, just do your best and improve every time. That’s about it, any other iris can chime in on shit I’ve missed but the bottom line is that all of this shit takes time to get good at. A LOT of time. And more time for each rank you go up. You absolutely have to put the time in if you want to improve, and it’s not going to happen overnight. What you addressed starting at 5:00 is in part why I have lost enjoyment playing ranked. I’ve noticed so many ranked players are both arrogant and stupid. They genuinely think that they can accurately assess the value of all their teammates in any and all matches. The fact of the matter is, there are a lot of things you can do that bring value to your team during a match. Just as a small example, the other day I was approaching the hard point. I looked at the mini map and saw that my entire team had just died. I came around the corner and there was an enemy player on a heady. I had the Jackal. The enemy had a position on me. Even if I were able to kill that one enemy, there were three others right by the point. I decided to play my life and wait for my teammates. One of my teammates started yelling at me. He was telling me that I needed to get on the point. This guy has no clue of my current situation. What I was seeing in front of me. All he sees is a dot on the mini map, not continuing forward onto the point. These type of players are morons. They are the type of players that get a ton of kills but barely go even and don’t help the team as much as they think they do. Unfortunately, nuance is lost on the average cod player. They aren’t the brightest. The thing that is most odd about this is that many ranked players watch the pros play. The pros talk about strategy and nuance. They don’t always simply attack the point head-on and die after one kill.

Ive been hardstuck since p3 only getting from 25 to 29 sr, and i'm currently halfway thru Crim1. I solo q mainly except when my duo decides to get on but this season i've played way more games solo than with a team. But even hardstuck its easy to climb as long as you have actual skill and know how the game works somewhat, it's just time put in, you really have to grind if you want to be better.

Sr system is pretty good, puts you where you’re supposed to be so you have to grind to reach higher levels. It’s also based on pro play so that’s why it’s based on wins not performance 😊

When i get team mates that just keep running to death, i focus on getting spawns and rotation and then watching lanes and trying to stop the enemy getting close while my team soak the time. Even in platinum still getting ppl that sit on point all 3 of them and then at the end look at my yime and say they carried me. Literally single handedly stopping enemy getting close and making sure you have a chance to get on point. When you get a good team who understands rotation and makes callouts, the game becomes so much easier. I hope i can get to diamond because even with harder enemies, at least the team mates will have some more sense.

I personally don’t believe a full team of commed up plats can beat a crim stack w out communication. As a crim 2 player I hopped on my buddies acc he’s hard stuck plat 1 and I absolutely fried those lobbies 50-60 kills each game with a 10 game win streak. The skill difference is to much and I was solo.

When I was D+ i was getting Crim/Iri and here and there some diamond players as mix in teams but never full D vs D. When I hit Crim… i was getting Crim/Iri/ and Top250. But mostly Iri. Never have I ever seen Diamond in any matches until recently, like last week, and i was thinking it will be a little bit easier for me to grind but nope. Got shadowban on Warzone Plunder when i was grinding for camos, first time in 2 years since i’ve moved on PC and as it happens it seems it will last until season two. Tomorrow is gonna be 6th day since it happened and it’s a bit pain in the azz since i didn’t had time to play too much everyday, but without doubt… cheaters ruined it for me. In one day i got 4 matches in a row full stack cheaters who brutally aimboted whole lobby. It was pointless and as i see, neither one of them got perm ban or shadowban yet. Still play without problem. My iri friends encounter them and back out of lobbies to avoid a lost time. We even wrote names and saved it to know who cheated against us and who haven’t. Alot of my friends who hit D or C, were getting alot of SR and had no issues but cheating issue is out of control since if you lose matches from division which is under your own, you will get punished by game for it. But what can you do when Plat or Gold players is ragehacking… nothing. Sit in spawn and jump over obstacles to wait for match to end. And then pray not to get them again in at least 2 games. Overall: SR and reward system is broken, team balancing is crap, there is hidden performance range implemented in ranked mode next to mmr which determinate against who you will play, what your score should be and how much you should win or lose, and how your team will perform regardless of party or soloQ, system itself calculated everything. It can mess up all of it for everyone. If it gives you more SR in current division it means it wants from you to be in higher one because system thinks that you don’t belong there and if you get less SR it means you deserve to be there and it wants from you to prove yourself that you are worthy of higher division and it will require from you to win more games than you previously should have and after few days of playing it will fix your hpr and grant you chance with more SR. I will add that MMR takes a significant role here. It tracks your whole data history of your account and your achievements trough all of their titles. Not from all ranked modes, it takes your stats from public lobbies and combat record overall.

Someone said the SR system is broken and that is a fact. Everyone has their role to play and especially playing Hardpoint i’ll usually hover between the cutting lanes and mainly holding spawns person if my team isn’t getting the point ill step up. When i hold point and im at the top of leaderboard i always end up losing its like my team is scared to play obj everytime, but then we i get with people who aren’t afraid to press and hold obj and I can hold spawns and cut lanes I end up at the bottom although i may finish with a 1.5 and above kd. Which sucks because someone has to ensure their team can hold the point and get there faster so why am i suffering

I hit diamond in most seasons on console and I solo I using get 2 plus min on hill with a bunch of defends but if I'm up against a team with multiple people defending the hill I'll get a pile of death super negative but on hard point I usually dominate

The game only took 30-20 Sr when I lost but right before I hit plat 2 it took 79 then went back to taking 20 once I hit it I feel like they just trying to keep you playing as long as possible 😂

Solo Q plat hardstuck - the game seems to intentionally put me in games where I'm (and my team) P1 vs a diamond and 3 p2s because 90% of the time im the strongest player. 90-120hp time with anywhere between 30-60 kills and a 1.5-5.0 k/d. It's strange but im coming to understand it. Last week i was earning 30 sr/game. Now i earn 50-60, prior to the video. Ill see if i learn anything.

I’m out of plat basically I’m 100 sr away from diamond 1. Map awareness , best routes to take / positions to hold & overall decision making while flipping out spawns and being annoying is why I’m mainly getting out of plat also because I’m playing with better teammates and have more knowledge of the game.

ya my problem with teams is like we find a group of 4 "good" players and go on a winning streak... but we're only good at our rank so as soon as we win 10-15 and some of us go up a rank, it just switches and we go on a losing streak... and ya, like you can't rank up with your friends b/c the brutal truth is that you're not going to all be performing at the same level... BO6 is sooooo sweaty tho, like there's hackers but ya, it's way more sweaty than MW, the most annoying thing though is you have to carry your team to win when you solo basically... so idk there's like a balance I'd say... but ya, like if I am not playing absolutely perfectly and dropping 50 in HP, or 18 in SnD etc. then my team is going to lose 100% of the time, I have to go off in order to even have a chance at maybe winning and it's exhausting... like I know that's probably a lot of peoples experiences too but ya... I don't understand it, b/c like "ok this person is the same rank as me but they can go 30/30 w/ 800 obj score and I have to 52/16 with 2600 obj score... like and then lose the same SR as they do anyway when we freaking lose inevitably..." So ya, I'd say pick up the good players to group w/ never ever 4 man b/c then you'll be put against other full teams and it's just harder to win, so solo then find 1 or 2 others who are good and go on your winning streak and then never play w/ them again b/c you'll always lose after the SR bump and ya rinse and repeat - solo, pick up, win streak, solo, pick up... etc... but ya, I don't really care at all about SR, I went hard for a minute this season, I swear I'm staying like gold 1 next season lmao b/c I'm not getting paid or anything it simply isn't worth the pure work and it's not even fun in the slightest tbh to have to go sooooo freaking hard, like it's insane even Gold 3 the players could be hacking but all of them are gonna be snapping straight to your head you can't miss a beat against anyone... It's extremely rare to find genuinely bad players tbh, and that's unique to this COD so the matchmaking is definitely ramped up here as far as SBMM and just manipulating the player experience, to a highly unethical degree btw but that's another topic...

Read the whitepaper from Activision. The game thinks you’ve almost reached your true skill level or Raw Skill as Activision calls it. For that reason, the closer you get to your projected rank/SR you will gain less SR for each win.

I have a completely different experience solo q, it only takes 1 bad teammate in any mode to sell the match…staring at walls or afk. Nobody talks or at least half of them don’t, and if you’re hardstuck you will likely be losing more SR than you gain for 1-1 loss/win. So the whole idea of losing more games to get the wins I’m afraid doesn’t work. You have some good tips but again my experience isn’t the same. The only hope I have is 4 stacking with people of similar rank who understand how to control the map. Everyone who’s like “I solo queued to crim” is just full of it….don’t believe the hype. Btw I’m plat 2 with 250+ wins so I’m not a bad player, just bad luck.

I noticed if i keep beating the Platinum players but when i play the odd Diamond player i lose to them my SR per win dropped for a few games and vice versa when i beat the rank above me my SR per win went up a good 40 SR more than normal . Solo Q is a lottery lol

The SR system is so bad. I’m crimson 1 almost crimson 2 and my lobbies have recently had atleast 2 or more iridescent players in there and when I win I only get 30 SR even though I’m beating player 1000s of sr more than me

Im platinum 2 I been playing since last week for about 2-3 games ever night after chilling with the guys on warzone. I still be getting 80-120 points per win I play solo . Sr is calculated with ur skill. Try to go better on things u are bad at. And u will get more bother keep it up

I would say 95% of people are in the rank they’re supposed to be. Everyone is going to be biased of their own performances and none of their flaws. I am crim 1 and solo queued. If you’re actually good, your hidden MMR won’t consistently put you in lobbies with shitty players(what everyone is saying about their teammates). Get better, play better, start warming up, actually use comms
