The fact that this man sprinted a half-mile to high-five all his fans is what makes him a legend! And props to the camera-man that kept up 😉

People talking about ego, but this has a lot to do with pay, future pay, and what he worked for all these years. It’s not just “happy to be here” at this level. If this continues his fee will go down. This is fierce competition for the headliner spots and there are only so many

It’s hardly ‘opening’ in the traditional sense, crafting the sound and setting up the vibe. It’s half a dozen ‘headliners’ blasting out their greatest hits for 60 minutes…
@donobrien18505 ай бұрын
I don't see it as ego to simply mention a fact. There's no complaints about not headlining in the video. And I guess James is James Humble then since when he did his London show, R3WIRE 'headlined' since he played after J.H.

@@lisgarbb1029 Fully agree. Saw Eric Prydz at Hi Ibiza last Monday, insane. (and what a killer soundsystem) And besides him (Prydz) being an unquestioned headliner, his show really benefits from the lighting support, therefor a late set time. And... sometimes a timetable curator has a vision of how the day looks musically, which can put an artist at a spot that makes sense that way.

So, the great DJ would go to the stage, do the show, take the money, and leave floor in despair cause no other DJ that day would be able to beat your heights. And make festival manager cry and rethink about his line up decisions. That is what the great DJ would do. If you are not able to do that, maybe you are not that great as you think you are. And the festival manager might be right. Going public, asking your fans to put the pressure on it, is counterproductive for your future. So, kids, don’t do this mistake at home.

@MichaelRenders5 ай бұрын
James, you've gathered quite a following over the years by workin hard and being you. (I like your style) But for real, second guessing you're not at Eric Prydz's spot? Every Dj deserves the spot where they fit best in the line-up, could be musically, could be schedule wise. And when you played, the field was filled, so you did exactly what you needed to do, draw crowds even in the middle of a line-up/day. That's value for an event, therefore you are booked and on top of your game.

Dude, you've just came to the scene in a little while, the other guys who played after you didn't have the chance to play so many festivals in their debuts. I imagine Avicii being still alive and you wanna play after him ! Musically speaking, you didn't bring anything new to the table. What's your sound? I saw you at Badlands in Calgary this year and your set was normal. Laidback Luke and Chuckie are well know with those live effects!
