@danielmceachin9301 - if he has a passport he can travel and reside anywhere, it’s really no different if he stayed in America with the same check. The only difference is he would be living in the streets in America vs finding a place to live. I guess you would feel better seeing him on the streets begging!! "America just wants you to see what they want you to see." I and my family left America over 15 years ago to move to the Philippines. When I tell fellow Filipinos about the craziness happening in America, some of which were mentioned by the interviewee, they don't believe me. We'd like to visit San Francisco, CA, to show our kids where my husband and I first met and show them our old stomping grounds - downtown, Union Square, Ocean Beach, etc. But we'll have to put that plan on hold for now, as it's not as safe as it used to be. And we'll have to access the poop emoji map. Moving to the Philippines is one of the best decisions we've ever made. Life here is less stressful, you appreciate what you have and do not think about the things others have that you don't or have less of, Filipinos are nice, and the produce tastes better.

Clark is a good place to retire esp.for former US soldiers stationed there. There are big malls like SM Clark, and tall buildings in Clark Angeles part. But most part of Clark is still green with wide roads left by the US. The red light district is still in Angeles but not as big as before. Many of the army buildings are now restaurants, offices and warehouses. You'll see Wendy's, McDonad's, Burger King, Jollibee, Japanese Restaurants, hotels, theme parks, casinos, condos, international airport, grocery stores, taxi and jeepneys etc. So it's a metropolis free port zone now with a lot of parks, big trees and green areas. I worked there from 2022-2023.

Many homeless men who have a pension can go overseas. I can't promise you will live like a king with everything depending on your monthly income. It's really sad but America is becoming a 2 class society. I live in Texas, my wife and I are both retired. Our retirement income is more than our working neighbors. Our mortgage is $1100 on a house now valued at $500k, we paid $180k 17yrs ago, rolled equity from a previous home into it. Our property taxas and insurance is half of our monthly note. Our neighbor is over close to $4k on a similar size home. Last night my wife wanted Chick-fil-A so I go inside. There are grandma's and grandpa's working in the restaurant definitely older than me, I'm thinking how is this OK. I did talk to one as I'm waiting and his story was he worked 30 yrs for a company that paid low wages and offered no benefits so when he was forced out SSI was all he had to live on and it wasn't enough. He also said the money he makes at Chick-fil-A is the most he's ever made in his life.

@@Mythical_Sisiw retired social worker with a major in poverty and economics Define 1st world country today. In the USA 1 out 2 Americans live at our below poverty . Most have a false sense of wealth. Debt is not wealth. Debt on a home; debt from credit cards and an automobile payment Is not wealth and most Americans are in debt and don't have a positive net worth. People in the USA are struggling to buy groceries, afford rent and energy and deal with violent crime. Once again what is the 1st world. In 2024. Thailand is ranked higher in technology and ranked higher in health and safety and food security etc. This why a lot expats retire and move overseas. We are priced out and go to places with lower cost of living and Ist world amenities.

@@michaelchristophergutierre7244 I totally agree, I can only speak for Texas but our State does a horrible job of caring for the elderly. I live in Guadalupe County, if it doesn't make our Politicians money they really don't care about it. It's also gotten to the point atleast in my State where if a Politician doesn't serve the Party in Power, the Party doesn't serve his District.

I enjoyed this video because he was not biased and just spoke facts and what he said about Filipinos coming here is so true, yes you will make more money in America, but cost is so high you will basically be working for bills. My family and I are immigrants and they are starting to realize this as well and they used to think i was crazy for wanting to leave America when i was younger.

👩🏽‍🦱 At first, I thought that the African-American man was an intelligent guy. However, he’s not intelligent. The way that he perceives the roles of women are antiquated, AND he expects his fiancé to work! 😂 He knows that he couldn’t pull that CRAP on an American woman, and especially not an African-American woman. 😁 That’s why he has stayed in the Philippines. 😏 In the United States, female and male roles are mixed when women work. When women work in the U.S., the chores are shared in the household. He’s taking advantage of that twenty-something year old woman. 😔🇺🇸

Very insightful perspective of the differences between two cultures without being too judgmental. Neither culture is perfect and it has its advantages and disadvantages. It all comes down to which lifestyle fits you best, and if you can handle the quirks and the head shaking moments (as I call them) in the Philippines and they aren't deal breakers this could be a great place for you. Much power to this guy for understanding the culture and adapting to the lifestyle quickly. I think he's found true happiness in the Philippines.

I'm a white American male, 62 years old. And I am sickened by the recurring racism in America. My best friend is a black man from Louisiana. We talk all the time about the Philippines. I have a beautiful Filipina fiancé and I will be retiring in the Philippines in a few years to be with her. My friend also wants to retire there. He is also sick of the racism and the hate in America. I told him he won't have to worry about racism against him in the Philippines. The Philippines isn't perfect. There are many challenges there. But in the Philippines you won't see some idiot in a lifted truck with a confederate flag the size of a circus tent.
