I love long exposure and fine art photography. Over the last 2 weeks, I've photographed Pin mill and Osea beach huts to create so fine art photography. This is how I process my images in Lightroom and Photoshop

Good tutorial Steve. Some great tips in there. Just wondering... would you consider using the selection tools (object, quick or polyganol) to constrain where your brush is going? I;ve found that useful (although I've rarely done the editing to the extent you did here. Also an interesting tip on the dehaze tool to see spots. I tend to just turn on visualise spots on the healing brush but always good to have some different ideas. Thanks for sharing and the final image was superb

Very nice tutorial sir. You are blessed to have such beautiful locations in your relative area, love your photos. Thank you for sharing your post processing skills with us. I've found that other photographers with very similar styles as yours tend to only show their finished photos and don't get into the "nuts and bolts" details of how they actually post process their images to get to the final view, unless of course you pay for their courses. Well done on your part sir and thank you for sharing. Also nice to see other Sony shooters.

Thanks for posting this excellent video! I was desperate to find a video explaining how to do this! I’ve got some shots of pin mill but I’m not very good with photoshop and wanted to edit them as fine art but couldn’t figure out how to use photoshop to remove the far bank on the horizon, I’ll be trying to copy what you’ve succinctly explained step by step (probably even the bits you deleted 😂). I was pointed towards your channel by Paul W Baker after commenting on his vlog of a photoshoot at pin mill! Thanks once again I’ll let you know how I get on

oh no another Gary Gough thinking this is photography. It isnt. Fine art doesnt mean you can manipulate something to death so it no longer has any resemblance to the original. Its not photographically. Manipulation Art.

Agree entirely, you can be a poor photographer but if you know how to edit professionally in photoshop you can fool people into thinking you something you are not. This does not apply to everyone,

Isn’t that what some of the most famous painters and artists ever born are famous for? It’s an art form. You might not like it. Many people didn’t like Turner. Look at him now!
@DonalMcDonnell
@DonalMcDonnell Күн бұрын
@@r2drone227 they might not have liked Turner but he painted without using a computer to make it into something it wasn’t, I was a water colour painter, just paint.brush and canvas, I would take no pride if I was able to manipulate it on a computer into something it wasn’t and have someone think I was a great painter. Manipulation has its place but it doesn’t make you a better photographer.
@r2drone227
@r2drone227 Күн бұрын
@@DonalMcDonnell manipulation methods develop with time. I don’t think it’s about being a better photographer. I think it’s about using it as a tool to produce what you want from your photography. As an art form photography is open to all kinds of adjustment whether that be in the dark room or on a computer. Manipulation of original images has gone on since the introduction of picture taking, it’s just that those manipulations have moved from a darkened room to a computer screen. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. If you don’t like what is happening, that is your prerogative, but others have the right to manipulate their images in whatever way they see fit. Not to be a better photographer, but to produce the artwork they desire.
