Running a restaurant as an Indian woman? Almost unthinkable in India. Really DW!! such stupid blatant racism. maybe the video editor has never been to India or for them small eateries run by indeoendent women doesn't equal to a restaurant being run in the great bavaria. i mean the title taste of freedom is so problematic as it delivers a subtle message of ignorance and biasness towards people of colour especially from south asia under the guise of making a documentary. i invite the video makers to visit my humble locality in not so great India and visit the 4 women run eateries present alone in my neighbourhood.

Many indian people have been coming to Japan to open their curry shop since 30 years before. Now there are many shops in major cities in here. Tastes of many shops are localized to Japanese taste. There is so much difference in taste in south India and north India. Dehli locates in moutainious area the foods are not so spicy as I thought.

Its great but social media ruined peoples perception of indian food because of ad-hoc street food which is not considered as traditional indian cuisine

Its good maybe best in taste , but i would not say healthy, because we have mostly Fried things and sugar content is also high in most of our food.

I've seen other stories on these langa's (?) or community kitchens and they are fantastic. They feed thousands around India every day for free, no matter who you are. That to me is real charity in action and real open heartedness.

DW really needs to work on their subtle messaging. Whats with taste if freedom as if she was captured and kept in dark cell for her culinary skills. Or you want to say that your yardstick of women entrepreneurs for culinary skills starts with those serving white clients in European countries? Once you are free from your biases, I wanna invite your research team along with this woman to my dwelling place just to show how many businesses are led by women in my locality and each one of them are independent and happy. Stop living in "White man's burden" theory. You are turning into another BBC

I wasn't going to watch this story, but I'm glad I did and I absolutely loved it. I got emotional watching it, tearing up when her mum spoke about the ingredient she was given by her own mother before she passed and she saved it for her Prateek. Also when Prateek spoke about her grandfather. I wish prosperity for whatever businesses she pursues and if I even visit Munich, her restaurant will be on my travel checklist. Congrats on the second restaurant Prateek ❤❤❤

Unless one also conversely chooses to define a dumpling or donut (2:10) as a vada, what is the need for reducing a vada to such objects that may look similar but otherwise have an entirely different make and taste? Ignoring a food's make or taste is not quite the hallmark of a chef.

In 2018, I never saw an Indian restaurant in Berlin. Now, I see Indian graduate students working at Burger Meister and even a Mexican restaurant at Kreuzberg called Vamos (Vamos is actually owned by an Indian). It's much easier getting Indian food in Germany, but the price points are still high. BTW, I don't consider Currywurst to being Indian.

This lady is from where ...Delhi? studied where.. Shimla.. all girls?.. Sounds an awful lot privileged !!! Credit to DW to have spun a story where none exists and literally adding masala !!...Seems like she has good friends in DW tv or did they just happen to get free lunches in the restaurant?
