I was raised in a secular Jewish home, and felt drawn to Christ as long as I could remember. It was in Assisi that I finally knew in my heart that I was called to be Catholic. I signed up for RCIA immediately and was baptized at Easter 2001. I have never doubted or regreted my decision for a moment. I was touched by this lovely profession of faith.
@isaiah3872 Жыл бұрын
God bless! I must say, I notice that so many Jewish Americans are secular, although they maintain virtually every popular tradition associated with the major Jewish holidays. This surely exists among other religious groups, but for an ethnoreligious group I find it so striking. I was told that this is also the case for many Israeli Jews

I can relate to this in so many ways. My father was Lutheran and my mother was Episcopalian. After visiting several churches seeking (something I couldn't define back then), I eventually found myself drawn to the beauty of the Catholic Church. I was called to become a Secular Franciscan and a Pastoral Counselor/Spiritual Director. God definitely has a plan for each of us. We just need to be open to His voice within us. Prayer is the conduit that will draw us into a deeper relationship with God. If we ask for His guidance, grace will pour through...the way will be revealed. Pax et Bonum, Sister!

Context: I too was raised Lutheran and am the same age as the nun in the video. Something that stuck out to me was her talking about being in Catholic groups and discussing Catholicism. I find that Catholics are very open to answering hard questions, and regardless of whether I agree with them, I can see their logic. With protestantism, I would have a question and it felt like it would be dismissed or they would tell me to read the Bible more. Reading the Bible tended to made me have more questions than answers. With Roman Catholics, they able to say "This is what Hell is. This is what purgatory is. This is the role of Pope." I really appreciate that.
