I have this in swamp ash from 2016. Every time I’ve brought this into the shop the luthers are surprised at how “this thing f’in rocks”. I think so too.

They’re great guitars. I really got lucky on that one being it’s extremely lightweight and resonant. You can feel the whole guitar come alive when playing unplugged and that body resonance transmits to the amp. Great clarity. The pickup combination at that time of the custom shop Broadcaster bridge pickup with the Twisted tele neck pick sounds as sweet as honey. Sadly they don’t sell the custom shop Broadcaster bridge pickup separately because I’ve never been able to find one. Otherwise I would have installed them on my other Teles. I’ve got this guitar in a different finish. Same pick ups and same tummy cut 2014 however mine has the channel bound neck in a 9 to 14 inch compound radius. It’s definitely my favourite guitar.

I got in love with this guitar back then. Also with the strat version, also natural and with a black pickguard. I still love it, I can't afford an american tele, but I love my Classic Vibe deeply. The neck is perfect for my hands and I modded recently. I will never get rid of it. Tele for the win! xD Thanks for sharing this beautiful instrument, take care!

Thank you for watching! As for your Classic Vibe tele, they are excellent guitars. I’ve owned a couple of the Teles. I still own a 40th Anniversary Strat and Jazzmaster which in reality are Classic Vibe guitars only sporting gold hardware and bound neck and block inlays on the Strat. I haven’t changed anything out on them. They sound great as is!

@@guitareveryone My Tele sounded amazing stock as well, but I wanted to make it more versatile and I added a SH1 in the neck, a hot rail in the middle por high gain and a baja tele in the bridge. It's a beast now. How do the necks feel in the 40th anniversary strat? Are they too big or...? Thank!

@@Lalairu that’s cool. Must sound great with the pickup change. I find the neck on my 40th anniversary Squiers about the same as was on the Classic Vibes that I’ve owned. Very comfortable.

I also have the same Tele. I play it through a Blackface Deluxe Reverb. I tamed the brightness with an MXR Ten Band EQ pedal . Sounds great.

Is a American standard tele with some wear on some frets a good deal at $809?

I would say that the price is pretty fair depending on the amount of fret wear and condition that the guitar is in. It would be very hard to make that judgement unless I could evaluate the instrument personally. I would suggest bringing someone with you who knows how to check for things like fret wear, neck pitch, neck straightness(no twists), etc.

interesting video as i have exactly the same guitar, the grain on the front of yours is nicer and more figured but mine is a 2 piece body while you say yours is 3, mine is also very light probably helped by the chunk of wood missing from the back, i am not sure i like the sound of it, its very bright and im used to the darker sound of my 1967 telecaster, the bridge pickup is also hotter and more rounded in that guitar, sounds great in your hands though

It’s great that you’ve got a 2 piece ash body. Like yours though mine is also very lightweight and I personally love the tone. And the roundness of the treble pickup I find quite desirable personally. If you could find a vintage style bridge with brass saddles it may help tame the brightness of your tele. I also own a MIM custom shop designed Fender Baja Telecaster that has the exact same pickups but sounds slightly different because the ash body is heavier than the MIA model featured here. You can see that guitar on my latest videos Mama Tried and Workin Man blues on my Guitar Lick Minutes series. I recorded both of those using GarageBand and a tweed amp patch. @@guitareveryone i forgot to say i have the baja mod on the 2013 tele, i have a 4 way selector in there to give me the pickups in series for a humbucker tone, comes in handy for certain things

I'm looking for my 1st tele, and have this model vs baja tele 50 butterscotch as available option. Which 1 do you recommend? I noticed there is 6 vs 3 saddle different too. Kindly advice

@@ChrisChris-jg7fj either guitar is a good choice. I own both guitars. The model year of my Baja tele has the same Custom shop pickups as my American Standard in this video. The American Standard I own is lightweight Ash though and is more resonant than the Baja tele. However both are keepers.

Nice Telecaster... Although I own a Gibson I don't play them. My playing style doesn't work with humbuckers, even split I don't like my sound with it. I'm a Telecaster and Jazzmaster guy. Great Tele.... Ash is going away so this will be more sought after

I agree Marty. Good woods such as Ash is getting scarcer and a lot of what we’re getting now is heavier. My Brent Mason telecaster is pretty heavy and it’s Ash. This tele is the video is so light and just rings.
