Just goes to show you how important upgrades are. The Terran applied constant brutal pressure and the Zerg was still able to squirm out of it. As mentioned numerous times before, macro macro macro.

To be fair, Stephano really didn't react to his opponent's army composition very well, he saw mass air with tanks, and decided to go for Broodlords, when all he really had to do was mass cracklings to win.

This was such an epic game! Glad Stephano won out. I just REALLY wish he had gotten his baneling nest earlier and used it on that damn supply wall instead of throwing 100 lings at it. That might have been game at that point! Great game!

As soon as you see banshees you need to get hydras or mutalisks. Lair was started at 6:45 (42 secs after banshee was revealed) and done at 7:50 and spire was started at 9:36.

It falls apart after a critical mass of infestors come out. Banshees are awesome early game, because they basically ignore static defenses once you get more than half a dozen, because they are very unreliant on upgrades, especially versus protoss, and because they have very good range. But in TVZ, the problem is that once infestors hit a critical mass, and can defend against banshees, more banshees only compound the problem, as fungals start to actually work as multitarget AOE.

I see a lot of people complaining about fungal being OP. Fungal is the only thing that keeps a zerg in the game. Terran and toss can both turtle up on 2 or 3 bases, while zerg needs to expand all over the map to be effective.

That was a great BO by the Terran, many new rooms for improvement on it too, this T player may have introduced a new metagame.

I can't remember for sure, but I think it was nearly totally un-upgraded and was target fired down by decently upgraded hyrdas (one of zerg's best anti air units IMO).

Zerg didn't try to mass up drones, Zerg made a large attack off his 2 bases which the Terran held with 2 helions and 2 marines while getting his banshees out. My point was this situation does not work in reverse, if the Zerg tried to rush air and had 6 supply worth of units and a spine crawler when the terran did a MM push, we would call that a build order loss and think nothing more of it.

I wouldn't say one is necessarily better then the other. Their style is completely different, and it really depends on what you are looking to get out of it.

Did you even watch the battles? The Terran got so many tactical advantages at all of the early engagements.

This kind of game happens when you know that your opponent is "outskilling" you. You have to use your brain, to force him to play what he has no practise in. Thats your only chance and thats more fun. We used to do this kind of style in an older game Natural-Selection. It was pretty fun. Szép volt Breach, hajrá!

îts not making sense to compare units out of the possible scenarios to use them. im not saying that infestor is definately op, but consider this: 1 fungaled units can’t kite and split 2 hunter seeker missiles can be easily dodged in most cases + you need to be much closer 3 you can neural parasite ravens (and ghosts) and use their abilities 4 50 gas IS a big difference. its 20 % ressource costs and 33% more gas costs there is a reason why infestors are build very heavily, while ravens are not.

33:50 post analyse tho, I think Stephano is just using the lings to keep the reinforcement banshee busy and buy himself more time. If those groups up with the assaulting banshee, I don't think Stephano's spore crawler at that moment of game would be enough to hold against the mass aerial assault. He already lost most of his queens :X

Spore crawlers don't have loads of SCVs repairing them, they went down quick enough for them to be worth it.

HD, I think you had the reason for the 2 minute breach attempt wrong. From my point of view, it seemed as though stephano wanted to try to lure the banshees that were assaulting his main back to Breach's main, and then there is the fact that he couldn't make anything with all his money but queens, lings, and spores.
