But that is still a photo, it's just a projection. Techniques like these are useful in matte painting, with a combination of photobashing and digital painting, back in the day matte painting would be done on a glass, because your texture and model is very low res and the shadows are backed in it will be most useful for far away objects in certain light conditions, with some more work specially in the roof portion this could be a good building for a extreme long shot. You might find fun to make a extreme long shot with a few buildings like these. One thing I don't understand tho is why did you extruded the top part with the "fruit" sign forward, that part is supposed to be in the back of the building.

@@enriquedalton That's fine there can be artistic reasons for changes, just make sure to edit the photo so your final projection make more sense. But keep up the good work, stuff like this and matte painting is really fun and it's a good addition to your other skills with the camera and after effects.

Whatever happened to Canoma?

@@enriquedalton Canoma was a software program from many years ago where you would start with a photo and then overlay basic 3D shapes onto it and it would generate 3D objects with texture maps. You could then rotate and move around the objects in 3D space. It was really revolutionary for its time but never took off for some reason.

Wow, thank you for the info, I really dont have an idea about that software, maybe canoma is used by famous 3d software nowadays as inspiration

Adobe acquired the company, you can do some 3d with projections in Photoshop and part of it is because they implemented tech from canoma into photoshop. Not many people use photoshop for 3d but it's not super uncommon among concept artists. So in a way Canoma is still alive.

@@_KondoIsami_ It seems like whenever Adobe acquires a company, it stays around for a year or 2 and then vanishes. I seems like they want to kill off competition more than anything else. I didn't know Adobe bought them. I remember I think it was from the same company that created "Ray Dream" 3D which also had a later 3D product "Carrara" - which I really liked because it had 2D projections on each of the "walls" of the axes.
