From Porto to Braga: a motorcycle trip through the treasures of Portugal

On the third day of the Planeta Terra Motorbike Expedition, Europe stage, we left the city of Porto towards Guimarães, Portugal's hometown.
Ribeira Pier
At the beginning of the day, we visited Cais da Ribeira, one of Porto's main tourist attractions. The site is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and offers stunning views of the city.
Lello Bookstore
Next, we went to Livraria Lello, one of the most beautiful bookstores in the world. The bookstore was built in the neo-Gothic style and is known for its spiral staircase and colorful stained glass windows.
University of Porto
Afterwards, we walked through the University of Porto, one of the oldest and most prestigious universities in Europe. The university was founded in 1290 and is known for its historic campus and gardens.
Guimarães
In the afternoon, we arrived in the city of Guimarães. The city is known as the birthplace of Portugal and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Palace of the Dukes of Bragança
In Guimarães, we visited the Palace of the Dukes of Bragança, one of the city's main tourist attractions. The palace was built in the 15th century and is a beautiful example of Gothic architecture.
Church of Our Lady of Oliveira
We also visited the Church of Nossa Senhora da Oliveira, a Romanesque church built in the 12th century. The church is known for its carved portal and wall paintings.
Braga
At the end of the day, we headed to the city of Braga, the third largest city in Portugal.
Basilica of Bom Jesus do Monte
In Braga, we visited the Basilica of Bom Jesus do Monte, one of the city's main tourist attractions. The basilica is a baroque sanctuary built in the 18th century.
Braga Cathedral
We also visited Braga Cathedral, a Romanesque cathedral built in the 12th century. The cathedral is known for its main altar and wall paintings.
Braga Train Station
To end the day, we visited the Braga Train Station, a railway station built in the 19th century. The station is a beautiful example of neo-Gothic architecture.
Conclusion
It was an intense day full of adventures. We visited three historic cities in Portugal and saw some of their main tourist attractions. Check out the video to see more of this incredible trip!
