@@EdMylettShow It was something both of you were relating about where you guys were both sort of implying that when you have something great that happens in your life you don't let yourself get to happy. I do the same thing too. You see everything in life has a good or bad usage or side to it. A knife is not bad by itself, but you can can use it to feed people, or you can use it to kill people. Happiness is associated only with being good. But there is a bad kind of happiness to believe it or not. It can boat your ego; or I have seen it used to intimidate others, as I have seen in religious and business circles. It looks like you guys understand what an untempered happiness is, which not many people understand. I'm not a perfect person, so I'm still trying to be watchful over myself and learn how to be happy. By the way Ed, I used to sneak into your neighborhood in the 90's to surf when I was a teenager.

The way this interview was set up was so on point for me for a very simple reason. I don't really carve out time to watch comedy and its difficult in its self to find standups that I don't feel like I have to take a mental bath afterward but the beauty of not being familiar with Sebastian's work is that I was able to see a comedian in a different element that was not his space. The small clips of his standup gave me a good sample of his humor so I was able to relate to Sebastian's grind more BUT the interview helped unlock a lot of different perspectives that will help me keep the blinders on and MAJOR in the MAJORS and stop MAJORING in the MINORS. I just read yesterday in John Maxwell's book Developing the Leader within you 2.0 "The art of being wise is knowing what to overlook - William James". This interview placed the icing on the cake!!! The portion of pursuing his DESIRE to be a Standup Comedian, period. His laser focus on his desire-driven goal is key to achieving goals, no matter how large. Transforming a WANT into a DESIRE is the difference between "its okay if I don't get there" to "I AM achieving this goal". Probably not surprising to Sebastian as he already has seen himself where he is many times before while visualizing being there.

Just listened to this whole interview at the gym and finished at home. I was a fan of Sebastian's before and this made me appreciate him and his comedy even more. I downloaded his book on @audible too. Can't wait to listen. Read by himself too. Thanks @edmylett ! Love your work, interviews, and super-positive attitude! It has helped me a lot and helped to make great, positive changes in my life. #MAXOUT

Ed, Great interview today with Sebastian. Very Humble guy. He’s Hilarious as a stand up. I’m surprised by how many successful people are fear motivated more then gain motivated.

@@EdMylettShow yes your transparency! When you received from Sebastian that it is ok to say no to things my spirit lept for you! When we operate from fear, fear of failing, or "this" ending, or I "should" do it... we strive out of fear and as you are finding stretching yourself too thin. This mindset actually pushes you toward failure because it is unsustainable. The very thing we want to avoid we create because fear is the driver. When we choose to say no, we re-access our "lane" and we can improve our calling and purpose. Yes you can do the things that are being asked of you but "should" is a negative motivator especially when you said you did not want to do it. In the book The Big Leap by Gay Henderson he says we have our zone of competence, our zone of excellence and many of us are good at a lot of things. But this leaves our zone of genius void which is where we "should" be all the time. Living from our zone of genius is effortless and joyful and fits us and is Gods best! Love you man!!

EdMylett Honestly I loved when you were talking with him about blissful dissatisfaction and it was like you were giving him so much value and I really liked seeing that. Also when you guys talked about momentum and whether or not he should take breaks from tour, I remember something Steve Harvey said: “Everywhere I go in the world I see the Nike swoosh and guess what? Everybody still keeps buying them damn shoes.”
