OK! The stars have aligned again!! Everything about my path to POD seems to be kismet! I made a post in Jay's FB group feeling lost even after watching everything I can about research and design etc. Jay replied with 1000% encouragement and reminded me that I'm completely overthinking!! I want to learn and want to build the business going about it the right way. Watching both of you, along with several others that have been interviewed on your channels, has armed me with a lot of info. I'm pretty sure the universe just keeps telling me I'm on the path i'm supposed to be on! p.s. i'm really not a crazy person! just amazed at how things align sometimes

Don't you love it when you get clues that everything is as it should be? I literally just had that same feeling this week!!

Awesomely inspirational Jay! I have my shop open since Dec. 2023 and have had no sales. I have over 500 items, mostly tee shirt and mugs. I follow all the guidelines of how to do key words and tags and yet no results! But you and Ryan inspire me to keep moving on! Thank you both.

Than you for watching, glad we could provide some inspiration! PS, I would have a friend/ family buy & review for your first sale (it can be a $0.99 digital download) that first 5-star review is super helpful to make more sales!

Try being a carpenter full time. It’s also stressful and you’re constantly trying not to hurt yourself.

But of course I commend him for successfully forging his own path. I’m working on that too.

It’s not just the fear of the unknown. It’s the fear of starvation and the fear of bankruptcy under the American healthcare system. Capitalism took away my tech career, so I had nothing left to lose and I am living off of support from family at this point while trying to do POD. I tried another business before that but couldn’t find a manufacturer to work with me at startup scale. For the average person, there are impossible barriers to entry to most businesses. I’m currently only on Etsy. With Amazon merch on demand I can’t run a brand and they do not use the same printing method that I have chosen that is superior to DTG. I would set up an Amazon professional account but the monthly fee is too high to justify at this point. Not sure what to do on that. A personal account does not allow you to use the API connectivity with print providers.

Jay and I both make a full-time wage from Amazon Merch alone. I would try focusing on that, just my opinion.
@jayswayworks7 ай бұрын
Agreed with Ryan. Amazon Merch is also FREE. Start there and worry about building your own brand elsewhere once you’re self-sufficient. I wish you all the best!
@automaton1117 ай бұрын
@@RyanHoguePassiveIncome I might give it a try. Then switch over to an Amazon professional account once my designs are selling. I am curious why you didn’t switch over to an Amazon professional account once you started selling well on Amazon.

Hi Ryan. I’m worried if I post political designs on etsy it will scare potential customers away. Am I overthinking it? Thank you sir 🙏
@RyanHoguePassiveIncome7 ай бұрын
I stopped posting political stuff on Etsy for two reasons: 1) my shop that was closed in 2019 was because other sellers that I competed with reported eachother while selling the same semi-political Trump-inspired maga parody hats 2) My fiance Mariel had her shop closed after a SINGLE CUSTOMER complained to Etsy that she didn't like an anti-Justin Trudeau hat that she had in the shop
@yangchen79827 ай бұрын
@@RyanHoguePassiveIncome Thank you. So those are just for amazon or would you recommend selling political designs anywhere else?

Hi,can i make a full income from pod store on etsy
@RyanHoguePassiveIncome7 ай бұрын
Jay and I both do from Amazon Merch alone 👍

What he doesn't talk about is the struggle of Etsy. Opening a store is not easy, people. Don't be fooled. Don't give up, but these guys sound like it is a piece of cake.
@jayswayworks7 ай бұрын
Precisely why i'm going to be 100% transparent about the new shop: to highlight the highs AND the lows - even at the risk of sacrificing my conversion rate - which would arguably make the whole thing even harder..
@RyanHoguePassiveIncome7 ай бұрын
Etsy is alot harder than it used to be, for sure
@travislight39897 ай бұрын
It's hard but not impossible. You just have to think outside the box when it comes to selling on Etsy, like selling something new and creative that someone else is not doing. I know easier said than done lol but is possible for sure. At least in my experience.
