I'm not sure about the movies of Darshan. However, Dileep's movies were popular for the comedy content and families loved them. So, still people think that he has been targeted and he won't do such crimes. I don't know when people will be able to differentiate that movie character and their actual character, and stop justifying them.

I live close to Darshan’s house in RR Nagar Bangalore.. I don’t see any humdrum here.. The fans who are mentioned are a few hundreds and mostly unemployed youth from low income background.. And All the social media support probably is paid PR to garner support..

There is a REASON why they're termed "Mass"... they form a bulk of most communities... Kannadigas are no exception... There's a REASON why hero-based films with a Villain, A love story and an item dance are prerequisites to making a movie a hit in Kannada..
