It’s a shame that society doesn’t hear about these figures pervasively in the media, but the media will be filled with the Kardashians or people who don’t deserve the notoriety.

You go on Google and you find nothing about Eli Broad exect pictures of he and his wife. How is that possible? You type any semi famed name in Google and you get a little data. With him nothing. How is this possible? May he rest in peace.

Frankly I'm offended by how many people are buying into this. I live in a K&b home. My entire neighborhood has gone through repeatedly slab leaks. When you turn on an appliance such as a vacuum cleaner all the lights dim. The hillsides in our community were never terraced and the cheapest landscaping possible was inserted there. When it rains water and dirt flows down those hillsides and buries the metal fences that they put behind our properties. Because of the poor design several of us myself included have had to repair or replace that metal fence several times. I am constantly finding roofing nails and pieces of tile buried in the dirt because when they broke tiles or lost roofing nails they just buried it. Walls in homes are not straight and the windows they used leak. Many of us have had to replace windows. When I pulled up the original carpet I found numerous razor blades and food packaging was under the carpet. When I replace lighting fixtures I found that the hole that they drilled for the lighting fixture wasn't tidy.. It looks like they just put a fist through the wall. The holes they cut out for several of the light switches are too big for the cover. They just painted over it so it looked like The hole was correctly cut when it wasn't. We have the same problem with the plumbing. The sewer lines from the bathroom fixtures go in at an angle so it's been impossible to find plumbing to fit the wall when I have to replace a sink. When I had to take the cabinets in the kitchen out because of a slab leak you'll never understand how much garbage I found under the cabinets. When they painted the house they apparently only used one coat and most of the closets were only painted to 5 ft 5 in. There was bare drywall above that. This guy made billions of dollars building homes and his people could have done a much better job. Now all of the sudden he's called a great guy.

People who want to help people in need are respected, you can't buy respect, no one knows who this guy was or is besides other rich people. Giving money to gain respect or attention or notoriety is selfish which is what billionaires are.

So, he’s a great philantropist, an extremely successful businessmab, but is not RESPECTED by his own kids? I’m sorry, but I respect a “9-5” father who’s loved by his kids, more than this Eli. And I’m a big art fan, specially of Jeff Koons; but no, I admire you by how your kids sees you! That should be (in my opinion) every man’s priority!

I prefer when the rich do not give to organizations that mainly serve other rich people. Give your money to the LA city schools or housing for the poor and I will be more impressed. However, better than nothing.

The arts are nice, but it benefits the elite. We need billioniares to help solve the homeless crisis,. to build motels or micro condos/apartments with a small bathroom and a small main room, a luxury to anyone living outside or in a tent. Have them controlled by HOA's have people pay what they can, let them rent to own, for those who can.

Tons to unpack here from a 13 minute video. The beauty of wealth mentality. Right or left. The way of righteousness always wins. What I’ve noticed over the many decades, the mind of conservatism leveraging time, money, resources rise all sinking ships. In a perfect world >>> Actively helping those who want to help themselves. This billionaire states ...responding [sic] Family “Well taken care of.” “My kids don’t have the ambition.” < the beginning of end as we know building family generational legacies has a huge crack with his observation of his own children. I understand the putting names on buildings. Question is will his family work side by side with him to keep the cycle going. ANSWER: NO. He said it himself. Make a great day. My own opinions. If you like them. Sue me. I love how “zillionaire,” spoken from the one dude who trading hours of his life for a dollar bill. A worthless idol. Listening, worry is his poison about others. If he’d try a supplement of peace, he might enjoy a worthwhile dream or goal his family could possibly carry forward.
