Ferry corsten owned 1999 almost every big tune made that year was made by him or someone else teamed up with him then add to that all his remixes what smashed the original tracks.

I graduated from High School Class of '99! At that time Trance was unknown in the USA. The closest we got was techno like Oakenfold or Prodigy. MTV wouldn't dare play things like this. If i had heard the brilliance of Ferrys music at that time, it would have blown my musical mind.
@ceppy4 жыл бұрын
Well yea but Oakenfold was playing Trance in 99. Not techno. IIRC alot of the trance dj's from the netherland's were showing up in clubs like Glow in Washington DC and Limelight in NYC. So technically trance wasn't unknown. I remember seeing Tiesto and Oakenfold in New Orleans in 1999.
@knowledgehunter61013 жыл бұрын
@@ceppy usa was really unusual anti european electro dance music of some odd reason especially during the 1990s fantastic new sound boom with jungle, eurodance, trance,hardtrance, gabber, uk garage,hardhouse and then the new millenium trance and gabba. A shame actually. USA just kept to its hiphop-rap, rock and country music.
@fruitylerlups5303 жыл бұрын
@@knowledgehunter6101 that thing was all so weird considering all this started in the USA with techno and house, but I want to maybe make a point that theres probably some bigoted associations thats played a role here. Obviously this was just the mainstream and popular music oriented perception, clubs were still huge in north east USA. The anti disco movement was heavily based on anti black and anti gay sentiment, and things like Gabber, Trance, Eurodance and Hardhouse would earn an association with queerness for a while. It was all seen as weird, hyperactive, queer, euro music. Though occasionally there'd be a breakout trance/eurodamce hit, like We're in Heaven, Take Me Away, etc in the top 40s.
@Music-yt7xo2 жыл бұрын
It was known in 99. I would say that it was a thing in the mid 90’s in Florida. Lots of artists like PvD and Sasha/Digweed were playing stateside in 94/95.

Back then you ran all synths in to the mixer at once triggered by midi so having the rack and the keyboard version gave you 4 JP synth parts to play at once as both machines are Bi-timbral. Another reason why the tracks back then sounded more alive 🙂
