That is a nice setup and very efficient. Like how you keep things clean but I would recommend wrapping up your barrel cover insulation with plastic wrap to keep potential fibers out of your honey.

My favourite bit is when you clean your barrel up...... I look and think, that's half my entire production there..🤣🤣🤣 You on a different level big boy. 😂😂

Great information, I've been thinking about buying a bottling machine. You provided good insight on things to consider. Pretty small mess for bottling 600 lbs of honey. Thanks for sharing

I worked in a dairy and the barrels of cream we filled had a plastic bag liner in them too. Great filling machine, I looked at their stand at the Telford beekeeping show.

I really like the simplicity of your bottle. If it crystallizes they can still spoon it out.

I think I've done well when I bottle up a 5 gal. pail. LOL That is a nice machine for sure, a necessity when you get big. So Buckwheat honey is a premium in France - here in MN I would think it would be a hard sell since it has such a unique flavor. What a 500 g sells for an extra euro or two?

The heated probe does make sense, heating from the inside out. And I've never seen honey in plastic pots.

Well done Richard. Now the question have you set up shipping yet and will your honey be available in Wales next month for a tour of force ? I’ll be there in May to hopefully get yours and Grufflys honey

Great setup Richard, can't say I'm a fan of buckwheat. I wonder if it tastes the same as here in the U.S., to me it tastes like molasses with hints of cough syrup!!!! Oh well, each to their own.

Do you have to clean all the pots? I buy boxes of 12oz jars but always wonder if I should wash them before use or just use them straight from the freshly opened box
@richardnoel31417 ай бұрын
Hi all jars are inspected prior to filling. In almost all cases the jars are packed sterile as they are heated to hundreds of degrees above boiling point to make the pot. I suppose you might be more careful if your buying individual jars. When you buy in quantity say a palette at a time, the glass is sterile. However it doesn’t mean we don’t check. The other point is, honey is a sterile produce, anti viral, anti bacterial do itdoes not promote the growth of bacteria. As long as the jars/pots are kept dust free there is no need to wash them. 😊
