Awww I miss when my two were small lil fluff balls like this - they grow so fast! I never had Maine Coons before now. I adopted two litter mates as kittens and didn’t know that they were 1/2 MC - I didn’t know enough about the breed to recognize what I now know are obvious MC physical traits. So, surprise surprise to discover that I have these babies that just kept growing well past the expected timeframe (they had a definite increase in length at around the 3 year mark) and that I’d end up with two 18 / 19 pounders! They are beautiful and unique creatures. I love the way they ‘talk’ in particular. Mine grew up w/o a cat mom and so they never really learned to meow (I assumed it was instinctual but I guess not). My baby girl is all trills, all the time and my little guy (who is VERY loving but also extremely demanding), only grunts. Like serious, human-sounding grunt - I imagine a toddler stamping their feet when they don’t get what they want 🤣

Studies show that it's mostly females who trill. My female Norwegian Forrest cat rarely meows she has mostly trilled since she was a couple of months old. It's so cute. Some experts think it's a form of speaking they use with their kittens too, kind of like "come on kids, let's go!" LOL it always cracks me up

I have a male who trills. He's a regular cat, not one of these big beasts. I used to always go check my females when he'd do it. Nope it was him. It cracks me up. When we have kittens in the house they love him. He's a very good uncle/babysitter too
