This guy deserves the same respect,like we give to Kane,Root,Kohli, Smith & Babar. His innings of 290 reminded me of 233 by Rahul Dravid at Adelaide as that also came after Australia posted 556 all out in 2003, & in this Innings he posted 290 when Australia had scored 559/9 declared & his inn lead NZ to 624, lead of 65, Rahul's knock was special but couldn't get India the lead in 1st inn as India was out for 523, then India dismissed Aus for 191, and chased 233 with Rahul scoring 72* in 2nd inn-2003 Adelaide Test.Ross Taylor's knock helped NZ get lead & since It was ended on Day 4, Australia batted and asked NZ to chase a score which was out of the reach,so result wasn't possible, so it was a draw, after this match since Johnson where he picked 1 wicket in 1st inn, was Mitchell Johnson's last match & he retired after he got hammered by Ross,Kane, Mccullum. Ross Taylor is better than many other foreign players who get IPL contracts, Franchise should buy him, It would be great if RR/DC/SRH/KXIP/CSK buy him, they need a good overseas middle order batsman. The 290 was undoubtedly Rosco's greatest innings, during which he maintained a strike rate of 77, although his 181* off 147 against England to allow NZ to make 336 after being 2/2 to beat England in a ODI was also brilliant. I was present at the game when he scored 138 off 104 balls against Australia in Hamilton in a test in 2010, which was the fastest test century (81 balls) by a NZ batter until it was beaten by Brendon McCullum. Sadly, Ross has just announced his retirement from test cricket.
