If you would like to learn how to make boiled books, both as pages and as art journals, I have an online course you can check out here with my other online classes: kelly-s-school-b1d1.thinkific.com/collections

First I have to comment on one of the scraps of text I can see on your desk: "You can't be my fairy."" What a delightful little snippet. Anyway I adored this video. I love making tiny books, cards, collages. I've been sorting and storing my smaller fussy cut bits and I have one box that is tiny people an inch or so tall and I love these little paper Borrowers and you've inspired me to make a small book decorated with these little people playing and cavorting through the pages. Thanks as always for the inspiration.

Ooh, love the inspiration, Sheryll. It's really helpful to try to work very small and very big as it seems to call on different strategies of our creative minds. The quote is from a large-print version of Peter Pan that I bought at a flea market for next to nothing and I use it all of the time for found text. Happy making!
@BookandPaperArts3 күн бұрын
@@NormaBennettSYD Norma, it is from an old copy of Peter Pan with large-print for little eyes. I use it all of the time. Cheers!

Tiny books have caught my attention from a very young age. As they say, some things never change. Thank YOU for bringing back these little loves to me!

Hi Penny. It is interesting how working very small or working very big demand different creative strategies and it is a joy to discover ways to express on that teensy canvas. Happy making!

Hi Kelly! I am sick in bed with a nasty cold. Yuck! So I really enjoyed watching this video. I recently bought a king size bed (which is a big change from my full size bed!) and I’m thinking I’m going to get all my scraps and just cover my bed and play with my papers. I’ll see you tomorrow!! Excited about using up those scraps! ❤️💜💚
@BookandPaperArts2 күн бұрын
Nasty cold??? Now you just stay where you are. But stay where you are and play with paper. (I would love a king size bed. I live in a tiny flat and just the double bed takes up a ton of valuable real estate in the little bedroom.) 😺Take care and get well soon.

You just proved that sometimes the scraps make the most interesting little books. Yay! I’ve never had a scrap I didn’t like…not sure if that’s a gift or a weakness in my case, but I do use them as much as possible. I love the stiff gauze effect…and the rusty drama of course. Looking forward to the next episode! Thank you!😊

Hi Melody. I like scraps, too, although this is the time of year I try to cull, so these little books are the last hurrah for the scrap year. I do keep a lot of them because they are vintage and if I have something 100 years old you best believe I am using every, last corner and crumb.

These are so cute! I just finished doing an art journal based on two things… one of your little thrown together books that you did back in September, and the Inktober idea of doing a drawing based on a prompt for each day of the month. One of the words was guidebook, so I made a tiny book like you show here, called it a Bird Watchers Guidebook, made a little tuck spot for that day, then over the next couple of weeks drew in a different bird on each page, then went back and gave them color with color pencils. It was a lot of fun, and I’m always looking for creative ways to practice my drawing and journaling. I love your ideas!

Hi Maggie. Wow, do you believe in signs? I was just about to start a bird sketchbook using coffee table books for inspiration (I am not drawing in the outdoors of a Welsh winter). It has been on my to-do list for two weeks and I am finally starting today. Thanks for your message - and giving me a push!

Kelly, I definitely believe in signs!! And I love it when we can inspire each other! I receive a magazine called Birds and Blooms; it was full of amazing photographs of birds from all over North America. I'll bet your coffee table books will be great fodder as well!!
