Thank you, But I did something stupid, I used a permanent black color thinking that the cloth won't fill all the head areas, my thought was if the head is visible through the hair, the black marker will fix it, but the cloth hair worked perfectly, and it is a lesson for the next project

She looks amazing. Try some cottonwool soaked in milk. Leave it on thr ink mark overnight. It should bring the ink off. It was great seeing you use the treddle sewing machine. Thatt is what my mum taught me to sew on. Ours had the long spool and shuttle to put the cotton on. Lovely memories.

I have tried few chemicals to get rid, but none worked, this is the first time I'm hearing a natural solution to clean the permanent ink, I love it because as the kids playing with the doll, this one feel more comfortable for me, I'll try this and let you know if it works on permanent ink marks. About the sewing machine, same memories here, Mom taught me all about this machine, she knew every detail and solution about the machine, 2 years back bought a new electric one for her as difficulties to use legs to run the machine, but I still have to use this one as she afraid I may damage the new one 😉 moms are always right, thanks 💐

You can remove the ink stains with oxy acne cream. Leave it in the sun on a hot day or use a blow drier. It takes a few tries to completely remove it.

Very fun and interesting to watch. Magic eraser is really good at getting tough stains and marks off as well as the Clorox pen on fabrics. Acne cream works if those fail. Acne cream method takes longer and sometimes more than one application but works. I stick it out in the sun rather than use a hair dryer. Also I would use fresh batting. That old batting was dirty and could have mold spores. A big bag of stuffing/batting isn't very expensive. Really cute.

actually, the batting we used to make at home and is made from the tree named ceiba/kapok. We are using these only to make pillows and beds because they have a different texture than soft sponge batting.

You did a great job! I really love doll restoration videos because I collect and paint doll faces myself. Marker inks are pretty hard to get off of dolls. I use pure acetone with alcohol to remove factory ink or pen marks. But there are times when it doesn't work. I joined some doll customization discussion groups and a lot of people have a problem with removing ink on dolls. But some of then have suggested using acne cream to remove them. I personally haven't tried it yet but they said it does wonders. \(๑╹◡╹๑)ﾉ♬

10% Benzac is used to remove pens, markers and various inks. It is an acne cream. It should be put on the spots and expose the doll to the sun for a few days. Then wash and repeat the process until completely eliminated.

in the future, if you have any pimple cream or peroxide, you can try putting the cream on the pen marks, wrap it in plastic and leave for a while, or in the sun, or try soaking a part in peroxide, i've seen people do that. You did a great job though and I'm so happy she will be loved again.

Hi Mangesh Devlekar, I applied alcohol and toothpaste multiple times, and there are still lot of ink stains left, but some of the doll restoration experts suggested using 'Acne cream' is best remove permanent inks.

I think you can get the rest of the marker off with rubbing alcohol. You might need 90%.

@@tuhinabanerjee13 trying yourself is a brave option, this restoration was my first ever doll restoration, What I did is, unstitched the body part and turned inside out, and took good quality white cloth and draw outline using old cloth, then stitched the edges except where the hand, leg and neck part is coming, I don’t know how, but it just worked out at first attempt, if you don’t have a sewing machine, either try manual hand stitching or go to a tailor.

@@tuhinabanerjee13 and for the body parts, incase if there is any marks or ink that is not removable, apply a 2.5% benzoyl 4-6 times will get rid all dirts, make sure to not put benzoyl on lipstick or eyebrows because it will remove that as well. I’m working on a much better restoration of the same doll, I hope i will finish it soon.

I really appreciate your trust in me, but apologies to say that taking others' doll for restoration is a very risky job as it is a precious gift in their life, so one simple mistake while restoring may cause damage to doll and hurt the kid as well, for this reason I'm really afraid to do restoration on others' dolls, thank you so much 🙏🤝

It did remove some, but as the ink was there for a long period, and it went deeper into the material, I think that is why I cannot get rid of it completely.
