I was just thinking about you! Hubs cleaned out his garage and woodworking area yesterday. This am, I had to get something in there and noticed our large trash can with a perfectly good under the bed style rolling storage container along with lots of also perfectly good scrap wood pieces! So I dumpster dove in my own house. I washed the storage bin and it’s drying in the sun. My pile of wood treasures will go into it and stored in a safe place in my garage! As I was pulling out the wood, all I could like of was “Diedre would be so proud of me” 😂

Project #2 would've been amazing with photos on the lid and on the panels around the sides. I would've then given it as a gift to a mother, grandmother or anyone really. That is immediately where my brain went when I saw it. It turned out nice with the napkin but I would've driven myself crazy on a project like that. I would have to match the pattern all the way around. My OCD is one of the main reasons I have so many unfinished projects laying around. It's horrible. I also feel your pain on the chair back sign you stated that you regretted selling. I remember the first time you shared it and every time after. I think I love the beauty of the chair back more and more every time. I would love to find something like that sometime as well as the metal step stool and that gorgeous rocker. I have lucked upon a couple of gorgeous rockers lately. One needs a lot of work. The other is very old and unique. I'm still on the hunt for one similar to what you found though. Isn't treasure hunting the best? Some days you lose but when you win it feels so fantastic. Finding craftsmanship, age and beauty from the past; free wood; something you or someone you know needs; seasonal decor; roadside finds; items to flip for extra cash; that antique or rare piece at the thrift store for dirt cheap or the perfect gift - It's exhilarating, addicting and so much fun! Then when you bring it home the fun continues. I'm curious to know how much you sell the children's building block mini signs for in your area? I realize you are in Canada and I am in the U.S but I would have no idea what to price those at. What do you do whit the other shapes? I use wooden blocks for all sorts of projects. I'm just curious what other things you use them for? Also, adding the pink to the wildflowers frame project was definitely the right decision. I loved that project the first time I seen it but now I appreciate it even more. That frame is gorgeous. I can totally see it hanging in my creative space. 💕 Thank you for continuing to share techniques using affordable products, for showing us how to make our own products with inexpensive materials instead of having to purchase expensive brand name products, for continuing to experiment and come up with new techniques, products and projects, for saving items from the landfill, for sharing your projects, for taking the time to create your videos and sharing them with us.

New member here. . .When you print words to decoupage on and rub off, do you use a regular printer with just copier paper? You are so creative, and I loved these ideas. Thank you for sharing!

Question: can you separate the votive cup from the crystal candle stick if necessary. Mine is not level (don't know why🤔) and this was my 1st time using e6000. Also, could you use a rubber tip or gloves to rub off the transfer paper? 🤔

Interesting shopping areas. I am in the Chicagoland suburbs. I have absolutely no clue where there is a dump I can go poking around in. I know where a landfill spot is, but is surrounded by fencing and barbwire...
@susanwoodcarver3 ай бұрын
I’ve lived in Chicago and the Chicagoland suburbs all my life. Unfortunately, there are no dumps, never have been, to go searching for “treasures“. The best you can do, and what many people do, is drive around your neighborhood, or any neighborhood, the night before they pick up trash. And that’s where you will find your treasures. Best of luck.❤ P.S. Best finds are in the “wealthier” neighborhoods.

I think she meant one stop paint which means you only need to apply one coat of paint, l use it and a little bit of the paint goes a long way,l recommended this paint especially the grey paint. The only thing I can fault is there's not great amount of colours. I would recommend this paint.10/10.
