I remember the show. I remember when it came out. There was a LOT of promotion for it. I watched the first few episodes. I didn't get the figures because I had stop collecting after Christmas of 1992. I was turning 13 in 1993. I started collecting figures again in the year 2000, however I did get on board with Power Of The Force 2 in 1997. But 2000 was the year I wanted to go back and finish off my childhood collections. In these past 19 years, I haven't got into 90's figures. However after watching this video, I'm thinking about getting some.

Nice! I remember this show. Definitely season 1 but the later seasons I didn't catch for some reason. I never had any of the figures but I had tons of the Star Trek ones. I remembered it being a big thing too when Jonathan Brandis died.

As a huge Star Trek fan as a child I remember being so excited when I found out these existed. I tried watching SeaQuest but I never fully got into it, loved the figures though as to me they were an extension of my Star Trek crew. The interesting thing about them was the better articulation, that was partially adopted for the Voyager figures, but Voyager still didn’t adopt the better crotch joints that SeaQuest had! In answer to your question though about two completely unconnected lines being so similar, take a look at Doctor Who and Primeval, both by Character Options.

About all I know of _SeaQuest_ is that its executive producer was Philip Segal, who used it to gain leverage within Amblin so that he could then work on a joint venture with the BBC to get _Doctor Who_ back onto the screens.

I watched the show but I only remember the talking Dolphin, the fact that the Jaws guy was in it, and the teenager later starred in a movie where Chuck Norris was his imaginary friend (Sidekicks), and then the actor committed suicide. Also, our school got promotional paper Sequest book covers one year.

A great set of figures. The only one I don't have, is Darwin. Never saw one, ever. Oh, I really want one of those 'lights and sounds' Seaquest models, along with the figure sized 'Stinger', and it looked like they were going to make 'The Regulator's' sub too. The figures all came with a load of gear, too - the tiny fold out computers were superb. You're right, Junkman - this is a show deserving of a reboot. Maybe the people who made 'Battlestar Galactica' from a somewhat cheesy late 1970's space opera, into a show everyone wanted to watch, could oversee it. I loved season one of 'Seaquest DSV' (which stands for 'Deep Submergence Vehicle), but found the other two seasons pretty much unwatchable.

The last big network sci-fi series. I always though it was a huge tip of the hat(if not a bit of a loose remake) to another network undersea series. Irwin Allen's, "Voyage to The Bottom of the Sea", which if you thought Seaquest was nuts, you haven't see anything yet. But then to my memory the Seaview didn't go into space.

I heard of Seaquest DSV but never seen it as a scuba diver and lover of the sea I would had enjoy. As for a sequel it can be done the right way similar to the Karate Kid & Cobra Kai however Roy Schider passed away years ago along with Jonathan Landis the surviving case could be brought back for the sequel one that takes place between season 2 & 3 to fill in the gaps. Speaking of the Karate Kid do you plan to do a video about the Karate Kid action figure line or no?

Really a nice video.I was actually in my 30's when this series came on. You are spot on that season 1 was better than 2 and 3. Unfortunately the problems were entirely due to NBC'S interference with the series producers. I did collect the figures but only last month finally was able to get Darwin to complete the set.Watching the series again now on peacock I find season 2 a little better than I remember end and season 3 miss Roy Sheider being a regular even though I also enjoy Michael Ironside's performance.I really wish they had put out the SeaQuest and the stinger vehicles. Thanks for including the video showing the figures and vehicles. Before this I had only seen some still pictures of the SeaQuest and stinger vehicles. Also I liked the late Jonathan Brandis and they did a little better job with Lucas than they did with Wesley Crusher.

This was my family’s show during the first season. We loved how science-y, realistic, and grounded it originally was. Sure it was a 90s show, so it meandered into some cheese sometimes, but it was very science focused. They even had a tag at the end of every episode where an actual marine biologist went over some of the real world science the episode was based on. Then season 2 came out and we were so disappointed. Roy Scheider, was right about it. It wasn’t even good sci-fy, like Star Trek or Babylon 5, it was bad budget sci-fy, which the 90s already had so much of. We stopped watching it regularly and then only ever caught a couple of season 3s episodes. I still rewatch season 1 sometimes. It’s thankfully a very self contained season, with a really good finally that almost feels like a series finally.

THIS VIDEO IS A DISASTER!!!!!! I don't think this guy ever saw the show. Edward Kerr walked off Set of a Season 2 episode, not season 3. Dr. Wendy Smith was one of the fan's least favorite characters, certainly not a "popular character". Only her boobs were popular. It's pronounced "Or-Teez:, not "Orts". SeaQuest had 59 one-hour episodes if the 2 two-parters are broken down for syndication (where the money is), not 57. It's Roy Scheider, not ShRider. Dr. Z is NOT the Doctor of the SeaQuest, he was a one-episode villain and mass murderer. Gon is not pronounced "Goon". NO FANS spent hours looking for the mis-spelled Regulator package. The unreadable mis-spelling was right at the bend of the glued bubble, most fans didn't even know until a decade later on the internet. Darwin wasn't the hardest to find because it was popular, it was the hardest to find because it shipped last on a delay from the other 8 and stores still had the original 8 on shelves. It was NOT the Network that screwed up the show, it was Producer Patrick Hasburgh. Fans still hate him. I still hate him.

I watched the show because Ted Raimi was in it. I actually liked his character Lieutenant Junior Grade Tim O'Neill on seaQuest over the bumbling idiot Joxer the Mighty on Xena Warrior Princess. I just found Joxer annoying. I don't fault Ted for accepting that role but it seems like the role was probably the brain child of either Ted's brother Sam Raimi or Rob Tapert. I'm not sure where the character of Joxer came from. If Ted wasn't in seaQuest, I probably wouldn't watch it considering that I'm not a fan of science fiction. I also liked Darwin. Jonathan Brandis was great as Lucas Wolenczak. I was quite sad when I found out that Jonathan Brandis killed himself November of 2003. Royce D. Applegate also died the same year as Jonathan Brandis. He died at a New year's party at a mansion. There was a fire there and sadly, he didn't make it out. He died January 1st, 2003. I have seaQuest on DVD and Blu-ray. I also own two seaQuest hats, one black one and one blue one. I also have the Ted Raimi Tim O'Neill figure, I also have the seaQuest font saved on my computer. ☺

The show never did catch on like how they hoped so I can see why they went a more sci fi route. The figures weren't all that interesting from a toyetic point of view except for Darwin.I mean it was just ordinary humans underwater.very limited in what you could do with them outside of that.Dr.Z was a bad guy who was cryo frozen .the doctor on the show was a woman.I see what they were going for show wise in that first season but figure wise it was boring
