Funny thing, you moved to Buenos Aires (my native city) for love, and I moved to CO (your native state) for the same reason. But my relationship with him didn’t have too many obstacles from the beginning because, since he is of Italian descent and raised in that way, just like us, made our marriage much easier and smoother. We are so similar in our way of being that when we go to Argentina, he feels at home and doesn’t want to leave. We even spoke of moving there at the time of retirement.

I loved the interview and the grace and honesty of both, the interviewer and the interviewee. When Sarah talks about the passion and "fever" of Argentine men, as well as their captivating personality, she does so from her perspective as a woman. But, being an Argentine man, I tell you that our women are like that too. There are surely not a few, but many foreigners, who have fallen under the spell of their aura. And I must add that many Argentine women love the game of "I'll let you get close" and then "don't get too close," which Argentine men, who are usually very forward (another truth about the video), sometimes find exasperating; hence the term "histérica" ("hysterical" not "estética" meaning aesthetic). I understand Sarah very well, and I value her great personality and adaptability, because I have lived outside my country for long periods. Once, when I was 11-12 years old, in the United States (Washington DC), with my paternal family, where I attended an American school at the end of primary school (elementary school) and beginning of secondary school (junior high school), and another time in Germany (Munich) when I was 26-27 years old, with my wife and my first son, barely a year old. On both occasions we had to adapt and learn the language, and although it is not easy, a positive and open mindset towards the experience, makes you overcome challenges and allows you to interact. And that is what we Argentines need most, to get closer and make friends (another truth of the video). And on both occasions we made friends; and over time all the foreigners with whom I have been lucky enough to interact have assured me that our warmth and openness is our best virtue. Of course, we have our flaws (not a few), but this video is undoubtedly a deep exploration of our idiosyncrasies and ways. And certainly a key to this (another truth of the video) is our attachment to the concept of family, which is easily extended to the subsequent circle of "friends." And although Sarah speaks of the Argentine in Buenos Aires, which is an important part of our people, but in the end only a part (I am from Mendoza), with its exceptions, it extends throughout the entire country. The explanation for this may or may not be, as can be seen in the video, a direct consequence of the great Italian immigration at the beginning of the 20th century, but it is undoubtedly a consequence of the amalgamation of cultures that followed said immigration. My greetings and best wishes to both of you!!"

I’m Argentine and I’ve been in a relationship with another Latin American (from Venezuela) and I could tell how different our culture was. For sure it has to do with individual backgrounds and not just the country we come from. But I could tell at least in this particular relationship how much more possessive/aggressive he got vs my tendency to be more dependent on my friends and communication. Since breaking up I’ve dated other Argentines and I did feel so much freedom in both of our individual paths and freedoms. I’ve also dated other foreigners and I’ve noticed how refreshing my attitude seems to them

Such is our level of trust that she tells me about the dudes at work and college who are ""romantically"" interested in her, and I know her well enough to see she ain't giving those simps a chance hehehe. You wonder why Argentinians are so slim? Like many other cultures outside of North America, the key is diet & lifestyle...they have a different approach to food...it is mostly sold fresh & without preservatives, & with less sugar, then prepared from scratch...frozen & canned food is only in cases of emergencies. They are not a driving culture, so people are more physically active in a natural way. They go dancing for fun & are spontaneous when socializing...no pressure of filling their calendars weeks in advance. Family & friendship is cultivated & expression of emotions is encouraged.

I'm an Argentine living in Denver, and I totally relate to what Sarah described. I'd even add that Argentina and the U.S. are more alike than we often realize-sharing similar values, laughing at the same things, fearing similar threats, and embracing that melting-pot vibe. Also, fun fact: I was sitting next to you guys at Raíces in Denver during the Copa América and also saw you guys at the Rapids game. Loved the interview!

@AugustoLuis859

@@decollector95 Being territorial and being insecure can seem similar because both can manifest in controlling or protective behaviors, but they stem from different motivations: 1. Being Territorial: • Territorial behavior is about asserting control or dominance over a certain “space,” which can be emotional, physical, or relational. • A territorial partner might want exclusivity or feel they have a right to influence certain aspects of their partner’s life, but this can be more about maintaining boundaries and a sense of belonging rather than fear. • This behavior is often triggered when someone feels that an “outsider” is intruding on what they consider “theirs,” sometimes leading to jealousy but not necessarily driven by insecurity about themselves. 2. Being Insecure: • Insecurity, on the other hand, is rooted in self-doubt or a lack of confidence. • An insecure partner might need constant reassurance because they fear they’re not “enough” or worry they’ll lose their partner. This can lead to jealousy, anxiety, or even possessiveness. • Insecurity tends to focus more on personal inadequacy and fear of abandonment rather than a desire to “protect” territory. While both behaviors can lead to jealousy or possessiveness, insecurity is usually tied to a lack of self-esteem, whereas territoriality can be more about protecting boundaries, with less focus on self-worth.
