The village of Vyhne, nestled between Žarnovica and Banská Štiavnica, shares the historical form of early settlements and mining activities with these localities. Vyhne, also known for its thermal springs, provides various relaxation opportunities. A cost-effective option we recommend is a leisurely hike in the region, which only requires spending on transport and food :-).
Our journey began at the Municipal Office, leading to Hajská Skala, where the vista definitely confirms you're in the Štiavnické Vrchy. The path then wove through the forest to an open ridge offering panoramic views. As in the previous autumn, a pleasant surprise awaited us there :-). The trail concluded on another ridge, this one rockier and composed of volcanic formations. At its end lies another viewpoint, Jelenia Skala (Hirschenstein/Jeržištán), where, in favorable weather, one can survey not just Vyhne but also the distant Vtáčnik mountains. Near Vyhne, yellow signs mark several adits, remnants of the village's iron ore mining past, which influenced its name.
