Super Basic Olive Oil Only Milk Carton Mold Cold Process Soap Making in REAL TIME

Using common household items and without the need of a scale, a lovely Olive Oil only soap can be made following this recipe. I heated the Olive oil for 2 minutes in my microwave before adding the Lye water, which really helped speed trace and saponification. I made the soap in the evening and un-molded and cut it the next day-about 18 hours after making it. It would need to cure longer to be of optimum use, but I show a lather demonstration in this video of a bar I made only 22 hours after making the soap. After 28 hours or so, the pH of my soap was about 10, which is the pH of soap that I consider ready to use. That is pretty fast for an Olive oil cold process soap.
Peppermint Essential oil is added to this soap, but you can make it without fragrance if you choose. I find the soap is very smooth, nice and refreshing and has a pretty good lather for Olive Oil only soap.

Soap Ingredients:
1. One, 1 Liter Bottle (34-35 oz) of Organic First Cold Pressed Tunsian Virgin Olive Oil
2. 1/2 cup (level) measuring cup of Food Grade NaOH (4.55 oz)
3. 9 oz of filtered or distilled water
4. Optional Ingredient: 5 Tablespoons (1.7 oz) Peppermint Essential
