Thank you for an interesting video🌼 Do you sometimes soak the grains for your chicken?

You're welcome! We don't at this point - maybe one day. We get them from a local farmer who grows an organic mix himself. Thanks for watching!

Do you have to trim the feathers? I thought it'd be nice to let them perch in the trees. Providing there are no hawks. I read somewhere that crows are good guardians. They are smart and will nest closeby if they know you care for them. They will chase away any predators that threaten their chicks.

We don't trim feathers. Interesting about crows - we have quite a few around but they've always just left each other alone. Thanks for watching!

What would you say your monthly/ yearly expenses are overall including everything not just the chickens. My wife and I are saving up to buy a home and would like to live a nice natural lifestyle like y’all seem to be doing!

Hey! Sorry for the slow reply. We're actually working on another video/post right now that breaks down our costs for our chickens - hopefully you'll see that soon! Long story short, we have around 50 chickens right now and spend roughly $200/month or $2400 annually. There's some annual costs in there we have broken down by month. It really can vary so much based on a lot of factors. Feed will be your biggest ongoing cost. Hope that helps for now and stay tuned for more! Awesome to hear the goals you and your wife have! Thanks for watching!
