FromSoft’s RPG roots go *deep* . King’s field was literally the first rpg on the PS1. From is more than just Miyazaki, and I agree that they’re more than likely of being capable of making great stuff outside the souls genre

Next Sekiro-esque game. If Miyazaki thinks Sekiro's mechanics can be worked with further without it actually being Sekiro, that's an impressive goal to strive towards. I believe he said "refine", so it has to be good. If they can do Sekiro fluidity but meet BB halfway in variety, it's automatic GOTY material. On a personal note, I sort of agree with your take. My wish of sorts is for a beast-hunting game, but I don't think From has the experience yet and the playerbase doesn't seem to enjoy beast/large animal enemies. I think rune bears are really cool, but most people seem to disagree with that. Unlike MH, which deals with animal "body language" as a foundation, From games are built on the uncanny (of sorts), a weird sense of unpredictability and "wrongness". MH, on the other hand, is moving towards higher and higher nature immersion - just look at Wilds. Look at Rey Dau footage. That is, above all, an encounter with a fantastic animal. This is why I think so many people love World in particular and might love Wilds even more (though I think this is a general MH sentiment). From has no expertise on this, so they'd have to do their own, unique thing. But I also don't think Miyazaki finds "hunting things" as cool for a game concept, so it'd have to be someone else's project. Curiously enough, great katanas are pretty reminiscent of MH long swords, more or less the most (in)famous weapons in MH. Anyway... Agree with a very small teaser on the next project at the Game Awards, first proper footage at Summer Game Fest 2025. Really depends if AC6 gets DLC/pseudo-sequel.

I'd love to see a wizard version of sekiro with more dynamic rather than katanas. Like balancing a big moveset of spells. It would also be cool if they copied hollow knight soul for hitting

I would really love to see something that goes by a similar gameplay formula to ER but instead of being in a medieval setting, having it be more modern or future dystopian society.. Keep magic and melee a thing but instead of old-style weapons use futuristic weapons (not mec bots like armored core though) Maybe a little less cryptic story wise. That would be a nice change up.

they should make character action, something commitment heavy but with a bunch of combos like Ninja Gaiden. Ngl if we just take all the weapon arts / weapons / spells and blend them together into several styles / weapons we already get a pretty good moveset on par with dmc
