Yes I agree! The muffins and treats are not the best option. Training with so many can cause aggression when you don't have them and possible laminitis(founder) down the round. Jami has the right idea, only praise after they do what you want. Lester may have trouble with Rita trying to "train" her with so many treats. She's already pushy and he's giving her a dangerous amount of those treats at one time. She needs a confident firm voice and hand, and not beating her like he keeps saying. Wish he would watch some reputable training videos. I'm sorry but Uriel was a handler not trainer.

❤ Jami, this is what Roman needs, a gentle touch, plus a gentle, softer voice. As a male horse, he may prefer female company, as some dogs seem to prefer. No yelling, no rough handling, he obviously was not treated well before he found his new home. It'll take a little time for him to adjust, and come to realize he's won the lottery 😅. He's doing a good job helping Rita to calm down and learn she is not the Boss of everyone 🙄 😉 😅. Roman seems to react to her in a good, calm way, and consistent. Great progress with the halter, Jami!

Jami, I have found that my rescue draft trusts women more. Your approach is perfect. Calm, quiet and reassuring. He may take longer with the regular halter as you indicated, it jingles. Baby steps. 😅❤

Well done JAMI... Memories of 3 foster dogs i had yrs ago... Part of their healing was daily walks on leashes in the Aussie bush axross the road. One was so terrified ...she'd shake and cry when i tried to attach the leash. ..After watching thru the window the other 2 enjoying walks.. one day she stood there .....violently shaking her face scrunched up while i attached the leash. We made a huge fuss and cheered her.... .while her tail nearly wagged off .still violently shaking.. she walked between the other 2 After that she always had to be first to get ready .... I cried for the horror she had endured to make her so desperately afraid. Her new family kept in touch for yrs ..until last year they infirmed me she had passed in her sleep aged 17.. ...she never missed a walk after that brave brave day....Ill love that baby girl forever ❤❤❤

❤ A cat 🐈 that came into my life from people that had no idea about the importance of socializing kittens was so terrified that she hyperventilated and passed out taking her home with me, it took lots of time, gentle voice, touch. It was heartbreaking. She became the most loving cat, ❤️ and remains in my heart forever. That was true love ❤️ and trust.

Very positive steps. Roman is learning to trust! He is learning life is not about painful moments. He is learning treats are a positive not a trick to harm him. Ropes, leads etc are not always a trap to work your rear off. He is learning love and so is rita. They have both come a long way so far. Together many great moments will happen.
