I'm in America, and never watched GOLD, but sir Roger is my favorite 007. Im 56, and grew up watching the 7 Moore bond films.

Roger Moore had CHARISMA with all capitals. He was , obviously, an exceptionally good looking guy but he also had a presence, a voice and a carriage that set him apart from almost all human beings around him (with a very few exceptions) . I've watched , I think, every movie he has made at least 4 times. I think every kid in my age group grew up trying to emulate the man in some way. Frankly, I think he should have received a percentage for every blazer jacket that I , and most of my friends, have ever bought !!

I have a huge soft spot for ‘Gold’. It was shown on British TV every year like clockwork, usually on a Sunday afternoon. It’s nice to see it’s been getting a bit more love recently. I was surprised to hear Roger Moore bought the rights to the movie in the UK, I have a hunch that it’s in the public domain in the US as it’s available on many different cheapo labels. It’s funny to hear about Maurice Binder being disorganised and submitting projects as late as possible. It might account for the fact that there are two slightly different title sequences. There’s a different shot of the jewellery on the first DVD that came out for the movie compared to the later releases. It could be that when it premiered a rough cut was used for the titles which were subsequently replaced. Or it’s possible there was a mix up when choosing a print for the DVD. I’d love to know the real reason why there are two different titles. Anyway, if you get to see the alternative titles for ‘Gold’ it features the same hand and jewellery as what you see in the teaser trailer for ‘The Man With The Golden Gun’, so maybe he wasn’t so disorganised after all! In the titles for the Blu-Ray it’s just a cropped shot of the jewellery with no hand. I have to agree with Matt that the music is excellent throughout and is one of my favourite things about the movie.

When it comes to quality/quantity no other 007 made better Bond movies than mr Glen. And A View To A Kill is a fantastic Bond movie, only brought down by Roger Moore's age. Nothing about it is downright bad, maybe the Beach Boys' California Girls lol
